Ever since the Taliban gained control over Afghanistan, Hindus and Sikhs, a minority in the country are being evacuated by the Indian Government, the political parties in India have suddenly begun supporting CAA. Interestingly, these political parties who are now asking for the implementation of CAA as soon as possible were the ones opposing it a while ago. Recently, Akali Dal along with multiple Indian Sikhs took a sharp U-turn to demand implementation and enforcement of CAA.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Spokesperson of Akali Dal, took to Twitter to request the government for evacuation of Afghanistan. He tweeted, “As situation is turning grim & more towns falling to Taliban, minority Sikhs & Hindus living in Afghanistan are concerned about their safety & religious freedom. We request Govt of India to take urgent steps to ensure safety & evacuation of remaining Hindus & Sikhs in Afghanistan.”

Requesting the cut-off date extension, Sirsa also said, “I request PM & HM to amend CAA and extend the cut-off date from 2014 to 2021 so that people coming from Afghanistan get benefitted & lead a safe life here and their children can study here.”

D S Bindra, an AIMIM activist, was widely reported for selling his house to serve langar at the anti- CAA protest site in Shaheen Bagh. The persecuted Sikh community from Afghanistan is now being benefitted from CAA.

However, TFI had reported that DS Bindra’s demonstrative humanity and goodwill at Shaheen Bagh was nothing, but political advertising on the behalf of his party, AIMIM.
It is not only SAD, but Congress has also switched its behaviour after the Taliban invasion of Afghanistan. Earlier reported by TFI, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh who had earlier taken a disturbingly anti-CAA stance to please his political matters in Delhi is now asking for the evacuation of the Sikh community in Afghanistan.
In a tweet, Singh said, “Urge @DrSJaishankar, MEA, GoI, to arrange for an immediate evacuation of all Indians, including around 200 Sikhs, stuck in a Gurudwara in Afghanistan after the #Taliban takeover. My govt is willing to extend any help needed to ensure their safe evacuation”.

The CAA has provisions for granting direct citizenship to people of the minority communities from the three neighbouring Islamic nations. Hindus and Sikhs who fled to India before December 2014, and were languishing for an Indian identity thus far, would be given direct citizenship.
Thus, By rejecting, and speaking against CAA, the Anti-CAA gang revealed their lack of empathy towards Sikhs in Afghanistan. The anti- CAA gang, to oppose the government only, had forgotten The first victims of the Anti-Citizenship law in India are the Sikh devotees, who are worse targeted in Afghanistan.
For the fact that the capital city of Kabul fell to the Taliban terrorists, the Indian government performed a high-risk manoeuvre of bringing the Indian nationals, journalists, diplomats, embassy staffers and security personnel back home rather smoothly and safely.
