A 32-year-old man hailing from Amreti village was arrested recently in the Gurh area of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, for posting a photograph of his village referring it to as a ‘mini Pakistan’ on social media on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Abrar Khan. As per a report by Times Now, he posted a photograph of his village with the caption ‘See Amreti- a mini Pakistan’ on Facebook. As the post went viral on social media, people and political leaders living in nearby villages lodged a police complaint and demanded action against him. Amreti village is one of the Muslim community-dominated villages of the district but without fail, the villagers taunted him.
The Superintendent of Police (SP) told Free Press Journal that the accused was booked under section 153 of IPC and other relevant sections of IT Acts. “He has been arrested and is being questioned. He was earlier living in Oman and was working with a private firm. Because of the lockdown situation, he had to return to his village,” the SP said.
A similar incident took place in May when a village gram pradhan identified as Imran Khan was arrested in UP’s Amethi for promising ‘Naya Pakistan’ while taking out a victory procession.
He had been elected as gram pradhan from Mangra village in the Ramganj area of Amethi. According to TOI, Khan and his supporters took out a bike rally in the village on May 4 where the song ‘Dekho Imran Khan Aaya, Naya Pakistan Laya’ was being played.
The accused was booked by the police and they also mentioned the fact that Khan also violated the Covid-19 guidelines, adding that action was initiated against him as soon as the administration learned about Khan’s behaviour. And the cops have even warned other villagers not to indulge in such activities and investigate details of people who liked his post.
Much like Yogi Adityanath’s administration, even Shivraj Singh Chouhan is now taking steps to nab anti-social elements in Madhya Pradesh. As reported by TFI, last year the houses of people pelting stones at a Hindu rally were razed by the Shivraj administration. Much like Yogi, the steps taken by the Shivraj government of MP are worthy of applause. Activities as such shouldn’t be neglected or taken lightly as it damages our nation’s building and integrity, States should learn from each other and keep such activities under check.
