Ever since the foreign friends of Rakesh Tikait, Yogendra Yadav and company, blundered and revealed the toolkit which was aimed at destabilising India, the farmers’ protests are getting exposed at a rapid pace. Now Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu through has been caught red-handed in spreading white lies about the farm laws in the joint sitting of the Parliament.
Taking a cue from his leader, Ravneet Singh Bittu rose to spread blatant lies about the farm laws in the parliament only to be caught and discredited by MoS Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur.
Participating in the discussion on the motion thanking the President for his address to the joint sitting of Parliament, Bittu proceeded to spread white lies that the three new farm laws will abolish the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) and pave the way for the development of private mandis. He claimed that in clauses 3 and 5 of the farm laws, it is written that private markets will be established and APMC markets.
This led to Anurag Thakur asking Bittu to point out where exactly in the three farm laws has it been stated that the mandis will be abolished, Bittu tried to deflect but in vain. The Congress MP tried to re-read the clauses but failed to find the exact mention of APMCs being abolished and hence, ended up exposing the propaganda of the opposition.
“These people are misleading farmers and the people of the country,” said Anurag Thakur. Thakur was joined by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi as he also protested against the claims made by Bittu.

The clause 3 of the farm laws states, “Subject to the provisions of this Act, any farmer or trader or electronic trading and transaction platform shall have the freedom to carry on the inter-State or intra-State trade and commerce in farmers’ produce in a trade area.”
Whereas, clause 5 of the farm laws talks about electronic trading platforms. It states, “(1) Any person (other than an individual), having a permanent account number allotted under the Income-tax Act, 1961 or such other document as may be notified by the Central Government or any farmer producer organization or agricultural co-operative society may establish and operate an electronic trading and transaction platform for facilitating inter-State or intra-State trade and commerce of scheduled farmers’ produce in a trade area.”
The clauses in the farm laws clearly don’t mention the abolishment of APMCs and Bittu was just attempting to provoke the agitating farmers by spreading white lies. Thanks to Bittu, the lies of the opposition have been exposed and the reality of the farm laws have been conveyed to the people of India.
