While much has been said and written about the Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, Rhea Chakraborty’s drug saga, and Bollywood’s nepotism and mafia culture, one incident, however, seemingly has been getting under the radar and not receiving much public-eye. The death of Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager Disha Salian, five days prior to his alleged suicide has also thrown up new facts lately which raises the suspicion that both deaths could be interlinked.
Possible homicide?
According to a Republic World report, a forensic expert named Prof Dr. Dinesh Rao has claimed that there were two sets of injuries on Disha Salian’s body, one before the fall and another upon her fall, something that points to her alleged homicide. The expert said that CBI needed to hold cross-questioning with all the suspicious names like Rhea Chakraborty, Sandip Singh, among others in the Sushant case.
While the Mumbai Police claimed that Disha jumped to her death, numerous theories about her being pushed down or falling while ‘escaping’ have been doing the rounds, along with ‘proof’.
Last month, BJP leader Narayan Rane alleged that Disha had not committed suicide by jumping off the 14th floor of a building but was raped and murdered instead, NDTV reported.
A PIL has also been filed in the Supreme Court for court-monitored CBI probe into the Disha’s death, stating that her death is interlinked with that of Sushant Singh Rajput’s.
Rane’s sensational letter to Amit Shah
In a sensational twist to the case, BJP MLA Nitesh Rane has claimed that Rohan Rai, Disha’s boyfriend was present in the house at the time of Disha’s mysterious death and possesses inside information. After the initial round of interrogation, Rai has disappeared from the public eye and his whereabouts are being questioned.
“Rohan is very scared of some powerful people. I spoke to him and discovered that due to some pressure, he is not able to disclose information about the mysterious circumstances which led to Disha’s death. Rohan needs assurance and security so that he can shed light on the mystery which is also linked with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput,” the son of former Maharashtra chief minister Narayan Rane told news agency IANS.
Rane added: “I assume he is scared to return to Mumbai where the case is being investigated. This may be due to some pressure from influential people.”
Rane had also raised several questions. He had questioned Mumbai Police changing the investigating officer in the Disha case, the fact that her CDR showed no calls for about five hours before her death and that she had called 100 before the death. He also claimed she had called Sushant, who called Rhea, and then someone was sent to Disha’s house after that, before her death.
However, the Mumbai Police has said that Disha’s last phone call was to a friend. A Mumbai Police official said, “The last call from Disha Salian’s phone was made to her friend Ankita. The claim that she tried to dial 100 the last time, is false.”
Rohan Rai absconding or Mumbai Police protecting him?
Some media reports have also claimed that Disha’s boyfriend Rohan Rai did not immediately rush downstairs and took 20-25 minutes to show up after Disha fell to her death from his 12th-floor apartment in Malad on June 8. Sources have, in fact, revealed that Rohan Rai only came down after being called multiple times by neighbors on the building’s intercom.
Earlier, a video dated 8 June of Disha and Rohan dancing together along with their friends had gone viral, which suggested that Salian was in happy spirits. Although Salian looked gleeful in the video, several media reports have insinuated that Disha and Rohan had some trouble in their relationship as the latter had been allegedly seeing other female actors from his show.
However, it is also being said that that Mumbai Police are aware of Rohan Rai’s whereabouts but are not ready to divulge the details. As per sources, Rohan Rai had taken permission from the Mumbai Police to leave the city.
The CBI has already called in persons linked to Disha Salian as they probed the Sushant case. The first name was Bunty Sajdeh, who is the CEO of Cornerstone, the company for which Disha used to work as a celebrity manager. Sajdeh, known for being friends with Bollywood and cricket stars, had been called in multiple times.
The second name was Uday Singh Gauri, who is a talent manager and a friend of Disha. He had also called Sushant a day before his death, on June 14.
It seems nothing concrete has come out from the investigation as many claims are being made and several loose threads are yet to be addressed–three months after Salian’s death.
