“Supreme Court is not a dartboard,” Harish Salve delivers a tombstone piledriver to Prashant Bhushan

Bhushan knocked unconscious

Prashant Bhushan is one of the prime reasons why the left and its politics will never find a significant base in India. Ever since Narendra Modi rose to power in 2014, Bhushan has suffered numerous meltdowns and has regularly resorted to spreading fake news. Bhushan earns his bread and butter through filing frivolous Public Interest Litigations in the courts which often turns out to be a massive waste of time. Noted lawyer Harish Salve in a webinar has hit out at Prashant Bhushan and the ilk for their attempts to defame the judiciary and the Modi government as they seek to impose their will on the government through judiciary.

One of country’s most respected lawyers who is also representing India at the International Court of Justice in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case without charging a penny, Harish Salve has had enough of the leftist cabal led by the likes of Prashant Bhushan and Harsh Mander.

Prashant Bhushan is a habitual offender when it comes to defaming the judiciary whenever his frivolous PILs are junked out or his leftist agenda getting bust. Speaking on the issue in a webinar, Salve said, “To say judgement is to favour a political party or judge has acted in favour of political party is wrong. Supreme Court is not a dartboard. You can criticize a judgment saying the judge has taken a conservative line.”

Salve further added, “When they do not get relief from Supreme Court, they say judges are not doing this because of this reason… Some people are pushing the boundaries by saying the Supreme Court deserves ‘F’ grade for its handling of migrants. I have been reading these articles. They are wrong.” In an important observation, Salve claimed, “A lot of people who are not elected feel that they can impose their will on the government through courts. “

Salve then proceeded to slam Prashant Bhushan for his derogatory comments against Justice Kapadia with the honourable judge expressing “anguish” over Bhushan’s comments. Salve didn’t take this lying down and filed a contempt case but the case is taking its own sweet time and unfortunately Justice Kapadia in the meantime has passed away. Bhushan had levelled unsubstantiated allegations of corruption against Justice Kapadia who later went on to become the Chief Justice of India.

Bhushan, who had earlier criticised Congress for corruption, witnessed a historic fall from grace as he helped the party in its manifesto creation during the 2019 LS elections. He ensured that the party lost convincingly as he attempted to weave the narrative that there was a scam in the procurement of Rafale fighter jets. The INC placed majority of its campaign on the issue of Rafale with the the Supreme Court junking Bhushan’s frivolous case as it gave a clean chit to the Modi government.

Such is Bhushan’s derangement that he actually blamed the Indian forces for the dastardly Pulwama attack.

"Pulwama bomber Adil Ahmad Dar became terrorist after he was beaten by troops". It's imp to understand why so many young men in Kashmir are becoming militants&willing to die. Even US forces couldn't hold Afghanistan & Iraq after large-scale suicide attackshttps://t.co/2mr5d3WK2Z

— Prashant Bhushan (@pbhushan1) February 16, 2019

Successive CJI’s have slammed Bhushan for his ‘PIL activism’ with CJI Bobde lamenting if RTI filing is becoming a profession. Even ex-Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi had rebuked Bhushan for his quest to make the SC pass unnecessary orders.

People like Prashant Bhushan, the members of so called civil society, pressurise the government and government officials through RTI applications. Many RTI activists were found to be blackmailing the government officials through the answers of the RTI, and therefore, for many miscreants, RTI litigation became a full time job, which earned them bread and butter without any hard work. Be it shielding the illegal Rohingyas, or applying for the mercy of the then death row convict Yakub Memon, or even making mountains of a molehill on Rafale deal, Prashant Bhushan has done it all.

It seems that Harish Salve has had enough of people like Prashant Bhushan who continue to attempt to gain backdoor entry in the corridors of power through the judiciary. Salve has delivered a knockout punch to Bhushan with the latter yet to respond to Salve.
