Days after taking on the music industry mafia, Sonu Nigam published yet another vlog, in which he destroyed the likes of Armaan Malik and Bhushan Kumar. The veteran singer called out six individuals in the music industry who were behaving in a particularly paranoid manner after his vlog calling for the mafias to be a bit kinder towards newer talents in the industry was published. Nigam has also, by naming Bhushan Kumar, indicated that he is willing to name all other hegemons of the industry if they pick up cheap fights with him.
The singer also called out Times of India, who he called a respectable newspaper. Yet, he accused the largest selling daily of publishing press releases as is, sent to it by the rulers of the industry. He also thrashed the paper for delivering its verdict on the entire controversy, and said that for TOI to adjudicate and suggest that Nigam’s “claims of nepotism in the industry now stand null and void,” was wrong. He further lambasted the paper for not changing one word of the alleged press release which they might have received from higher-ups in the industry.

Sonu Nigam called out six ‘Maha-geniuses’ of the industry, one of which was singer Armaan Malik, who about an year ago had decried the music industry for its lack of unity and the condition of singers in it, almost all of whom were unhappy. Now, the same singer, in the context of Sonu Nigam, says:
Some people only want attention. Better not to give them that. Calm karo, aage badho 😊

Interestingly, Amaal Malik, Armaan’s brother, in an interview to TOI said that just having a known name in the industry is not necessarily a stepping stone for success. He recalled his and Arman’s own experiences at gaining recognition.
It must be noted that in his earlier vlog, Sonu Nigam had not named anyone, and in a rather healthy and caring spirit, had called upon the rulers of India’s music industry to be more sensitive towards new talents. Yet, using the media, some of these hegemons are now naming, and attempting to shame Sonu Nigam for speaking his mind out.
In his new vlog, Sonu Nigam completely destroys T-Series head, Bhushan Kumar, which has also led to many on social media to call for the boycott of India’s most popular record label, and YouTube’s most subscribed channel. Sonu Nigam says, “Now, I need to take Bhushan Kumar’s name. You’ve instigated the wrong person. You forgot that time when you came to my home and pleaded me to do one album for you, pleaded me to introduce you to Subrata Roy, Smita Thackeray, Bal Thackeray… Pleaded me to save you from Abu Salem. Do you remember all this?”
The singer further added, “I’m warning you not to engage with me in any manner. Hope you remember Marina Kuwar. I don’t know why she backed out, though the media knows. That’s how mafia functions. I still have her video. Now if you mess with me, I will post that video on my YouTube channel. Don’t you dare mess with me.”
Marina Kuwar is a model and actor, who had earlier accused Bhushan Kumar of molesting her.

If Sonu’s new vlog is anything to go by, it is more than evident that he will not take any strong-arming tactics used against him by the ‘bosses’ of music industry, lying down. For now, the singer has named only Bhushan Kumar. But something tells us this is just the beginning.
