‘Other countries will change their numbers too,’ Chinese poodle WHO defends China’s revision of death count

Shameless

China, WHO

Just when the world thinks that WHO has crossed the threshold of bootlicking China and covering up its Wuhan virus mess, WHO promptly surprises us by taking it a further notch below. After China finally admitted that deaths were underreported and increased its Wuhan death toll by 50 per cent to 1,290 more deaths, WHO has covered up China’s data by saying ‘all countries will face this’.

“This is something that is a challenge in an ongoing outbreak: to identify all of your cases and all of your deaths,” Maria van Kerkhove, WHO’s COVID-19 technical lead, passionately played down China’s sudden spurt in numbers.

China airdropping a 50 per cent rise in the cases if nothing but reinforces the long-standing doubts over Chinese transparency over the outbreak. There have been questions and eyebrows raised all over the world regarding China’s surprisingly lower Wuhan virus death toll and infection numbers.

The WHO gave pity to China by stating that Wuhan had been overwhelmed by the virus, which emerged in the city in December and the authorities had been too swamped to ensure every death and infection was properly recorded. Truly heart-wrenching stuff from the WHO!

In a social media post, Wuhan city’s government updated the figures and in a rather quizzical manner admitted that many cases were “mistakenly reported” or “missed entirely”reported WION.

After the dust settles on the entire pandemic which could at least take a year or so easily (best-case scenario)–China may or may not face the music but the world governments are already coming down hard on its minion WHO.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday halted funding to the WHO over its mishandling of the Wuhan virus pandemic. After China increased its death toll, Trump tweeted that these numbers are nowhere close to the actual figures.

Furthermore, the US House Committee on Oversight & Reforms has shot off a letter to Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of WHO—slamming him for his fanatical defence of China and has demanded that all pertinent communication related to but not limited to COVID-19 between the WHO & China to be handed over.

This has effectively set the time ticking for Dr. Tedros as the noose around his neck increasingly tightens and his masters in China can do nothing about it.

The China-backed Tedros is being held accountable for colluding with China to spread the fake narrative of Wuhan Virus not transmitting from Human to human. He conveniently played down the fears of the virus turning into a major pandemic, despite mounting pieces of evidence.

Back in 2017, there were red flags raised over the nomination of Dr. Tedros as he is accused of covering up deadly epidemics. He was the Health Minister of Ethiopia from 2005 to 2012 and later served as the country’s Foreign Minister from 2012-2016.

In his controversial tenure, he covered up the cholera epidemics of 2006, 2009, and 2011. Despite the death toll and the fatality of the virus, the Ethiopian government only labelled them as ‘outbreaks’. And therefore it should not come as a surprise to anyone as to how he was able to dupe the entire world.

While Beijing informed the WHO on December 31, there are expert estimates that the virus had spread to humans as far back as October. Even after being told, the WHO showed no urgency to send an investigative team, careful not to displease the Chinese government. A joint WHO-Chinese team went to Wuhan only in mid-February and wrote a report with decidedly Chinese characteristics.

And now, rather than giving a rap on the knuckle to Chinese, WHO has come up with a sorry excuse to further shield Beijing. The argument given by the WHO sets a dangerous precedent as under-developed nations will likely try to hide the numbers and when caught will give the same reason. If WHO wants to maintain even a shred of its integrity intact, Dr. Tedros must immediately resign and sweeping administerial changes need to be introduced in the world body which off late has become a Chinese embassy.
