As the mobs of radical Islamist ideology along with infiltrator burn down West Bengal with burning trains, vehicles, stations and everything coming in their sight, the West Bengal police gave total free hand to the Muslim mob. West Bengal police has shown that they cannot upset their political masters, the same police, which have booked a large number of Hindus during Durga Puja and Deepawali on petty charges, has proved to be grossly inefficient when it came to taking action against the Muslim mob.
The violent, anti-social elements have been given a free run by the TMC dispensation and the violence doesn’t seem to whittle down. On Sunday, there were reports of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel being attacked and at least four RPF vehicles were set ablaze in Sagardighi and Rejinagar. Some RPF jawans were also beaten up by a violent mob and had to be rushed to a hospital in Beldanga.
Violence has also taken grip of Malda, even as the hooligans vandalised the Bhaluka railway station on Sunday. They even resorted to arson and set the ticket counter on fire, even as hundreds of agitators blocked the tracks at the railway station. Within a few days of violence, these vandals and hooligans have run riot in West Bengal torching 5 trains, 3 railway stations, a dozen buses and a toll plaza. These protesters have not just been torching and vandalising public property, but they have also been targeting innocent citizen.

Causing structural damage to tracks, setting them on fire and vandalising critical infrastructure are all methods to cause derailments and nasty accidents. This is exactly what the violent mobs in West Bengal have been trying to do. There have also been reports of attacking police stations and pelting stones at cops, after which the police had to resort to lathi-charge. What has happened in West Bengal is therefore no less than terrorism.

While on the other hand, the Uttar Pradesh Police under CM Yogi Adityanath exhibited an outstanding example of maintaining the law and order. UP which consist of a large population of Muslims has surprised everyone as no massive violent protest occurred there. The tight grip of Yogi Adityanath over the state is quite visible this time, as no protestor dared to cross the university gates even in the Aligarh Muslim University where some clashes happened. Police used tear gas and rubber bullets on protestors when they started pelting stones during protests. At least fifteen “anti-social elements” were detained, UP police said in a post.
Giving a stern warning to the mobs and appealing to the citizens to not fall for fake news, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath even urged people to maintain peace and harmony and eschew rumours. In a statement past Sunday midnight, Adityanath said, “People should not pay any attention to the rumours about Citizenship Amendment Act being spread by some vested interests.” He also said the state government was committed to provide security to every citizen of the state. “For this, it is necessary that everyone follows the law. Nobody will be allowed to disturb the atmosphere of peace in the state,” he said. UP government taking precautionary step has also imposed Section 144 in six districts of Uttar Pradesh in order to maintain the law and order of the state.
While the spineless WB Police failed to protect the state properties and its citizens, UP police under CM Yogi Adityanath has sent a stern message to every anti element trying to instil violent protests there that they would not be spared. Stern policing is working as a deterrent for the rioters-mob in UP while the Bengal the mob is assured that no action could be taken on them as state government is busy appeasing them, they desperately need their support. With ministers busy persuading the Muslim community to end violent protest, police has no scope to work in Bengal under such immense pressure from the TMC goons sitting in the government. The WB police must follow the footsteps of UP police in order to instil fear among these criminal mobs and infiltrators, it is high time for police to react promptly for the sake of other citizens of the state. The role of the DGP OP Singh of the UP and IG (law and order) must be commended for their quick response in maintaining the law order in the state.
