From making funny videos to crushing dissent, TikTok’s stand on Uyghur Muslims is disgusting

Yet another Chinese slave

Uyghur Muslims, China, TikTok

Revealing nothing less than stupidity and foolishness of every other Chinese company, TikTok has recently banned a Muslim US girl after she mentions the ongoing ethnic genocide of Uyghur Muslims in China. Further strengthening the stupidity, the app did not stop there but apologised giving a lame excuse.

The girl, Feroza Aziz, a 17-year-old Muslim from the USA became famous after her makeup tutorial ‘How to get long lashes,’ went viral on TikTok in which she is also seen talking about the ethnic genocide currently happening in China.

The app- TikTok idiotically blocked her, showing the very communist nature of suppression, however, soon after the uproar, TikTok issued a written apology to Aziz stating that taking that action was a mistake.

In the video, Feroza can be heard talking-

“Hi guys, I am gonna teach you how o get long lashes. First thing you need to do is grab your lash curler, curl your lashes obviously; then you gotta put them down and use your phone that you are using right now to search up what’s happening in China, how they are getting concentration camps, throwing innocent Muslims there, separating their families from each other, kidnapping them, murdering them, raping them, forcing them to eat pork, forcing them to drink, forcing them convert into different religions if not else of course (they) will get murdered. People who go to these concentration camps don’t come back alive, this is another holocaust. Yet no one is talking about it. Please we aware. Please spread awareness.”

The mentioned video on TikTok is divided into three parts where the girl talks about concentration camps in Xinjiang, China where the Uighur Muslims are being kept. They are being forced to eat pork, drink and convert to other religions. These videos went viral but little did Feroza knew that this would get her banned from the Chinese video-sharing app, TikTok.

Feroza took to her Twitter account to give updates on what’s going on with her TikTok account.

On Nov 27, 2019, she tweeted, “Update: I have reached out to TikTok yesterday morning and still haven’t gotten a response. I am still waiting for them to explain to me why my account was suspended, the day after I finished posting my three-part video on the Uighurs.”

— Feroza Aziz (@ferozaazizz) November 27, 2019

Just two hours of that, she tweeted, “UPDATE: TikTok has taken down my video spreading awareness on the Uighur genocide. This is proof that China is using TikTok to not let the truth be set free. China is scared. Donald Trump, is there any way we can discuss?”

UPDATE: TIK TOK HAS TAKEN DOWN MY VIDEO SPREADING AWARENESS ON THE UYGHUR GENOCIDE. THIS IS PROOF THAT CHINA IS USING TIK TOK TO NOT LET THE TRUTH BE SET FREE. CHINA IS SCARED. @realDonaldTrump is there any way we can discuss?

— Feroza Aziz (@ferozaazizz) November 27, 2019

One hour after that she tweeted, “UPDATE: my TikTok is back up… very suspicious.”

UPDATE: my tik tok is back up…very suspicious

— Feroza Aziz (@ferozaazizz) November 27, 2019

This is when Erin Han wrote, “There has been significant interest and confusion regarding a user’s two Tik Tok accounts and her viral video talking about the Uighur community in China. In this post, we want to clarify the timeline of events, apologize for an error, and explain more about our moderation philosophy and the next steps our team will be taking in our continued commitment to our community.”

Showcasing their own idiocy further and acknowledging its ‘significant interest and confusion’, Erin Han, head of Safety, TikTok US issued a written apology explaining exactly what had happened and that suspending the account was ‘human error‘.

Han explained that Feroza’s previous account has also been taken down due to one of the satirical videos had an image of Osama bin Laden in it. Using any kind of images of terrorist figures is against the policies of TikTok which resulted in a ban on Feroza’s first account.

He continued that the removal of the aforementioned video was a ‘human moderation error.’ He wrote, “Due to a human moderation error, the viral video from November 23 was removed.”

After the whole thing went down, Feroza reached out to people on her Twitter saying that this is not the first time that TikTok has tried to silence her regarding the Uighur genocide.

This isn’t the first time tik tok has tried to silence me about the Uyghur genocide. Here is the first video I made on my previous account that was deleted and taken down. Tik tok, I deserve answers. What are you trying to hide? I have reached out and haven’t gotten any answers. pic.twitter.com/7xEjkBRzv8

— Feroza Aziz (@ferozaazizz) November 27, 2019

TikTok and its working has always been suspicious as it is being operated by ByteDance, a Chinese internet company. TikTok has always deeply censored anything which is critical to China or the Communist Party of China.Taking down Feroza’s video has strongly backfired TikTok and exposed the deep censorship it does. TikTok’s apology to Firoza is idiotic and is beyond belief.

Recently, the UN Human Rights Council has stated that the Chinese government is harvesting and selling organs from persecuted ethnic and religious minorities including the Uyghur Muslims, who are being persecuted at an accelerated pace. Lawyer Hamid Sabi, speaking at the UNHRC headquarters in Geneva, had also presented the findings of the China tribunal, an independent tribunal on accusations of forced organ harvesting.

It must be noted that there have been several shocking reports about how China is mistreating the Uyghur Muslims in its far-western province of Xinjiang. Beijing is carrying out a massive political re-education campaign that requires Muslim detainees to swear allegiance to the Communist Party and fore-swearing the Muslim faith that they are told to repeat is “stupid.” This massive campaign treats Islam as a mental disease.

Interestingly, China terms the internment/ detention camps as ‘re-education centres’ or ‘vocational education centres’. However, last year a senior Chinese official had spilled the beans while talking to a UN panel about the internment camps when he stated that there are, “no such things as re-education centres.” Even though the government documents refer to them as re-education centres, in reality, they are just vocational schools for criminals.

China has not only started looking at Islam as a mental disorder but it is also being criminalised. As per reports, China has detained between one to two million Uyghur Muslims in this secret internment in the Xinjiang province.

This year too, there have been shocking reports about how China is virtually tormenting the Uyghur Muslims. Recently, it came to light that the dragon has followed up its atrocities against the Uyghurs by forcing the Uyghur Muslim women to share beds with male Chinese officials after their husbands are detained in internment camps.

Coming back to the TikTok video by Firoza, the application is nothing but China’s slave and has crushed dissent which is very typical of China.
