Rahul Gandhi as a politician is more than accustomed to being dragged into self-manufactured problems. If his lack of political wisdom wasn’t already enough, his name also keeps emerging in corruption scandals from time to time. Till 2014, nobody spared a moment to question the Gandhi heir; however, with the BJP coming to power in 2014, things dramatically took an ugly turn for the Vadra-Gandhi family.
While the UPA was in power, Rahul Gandhi had immense immunity against the law. Now, that immunity is gone. And having to fight Subramanian Swamy without any immunity can be a tumultuous and often disappointing task for many.
Subramanian Swamy’s genuine animosity with the Gandhi family is not hidden. Being a man who has a track record of legally teaching his foes a lesson, Swamy has been a determined man when it comes to getting members of the family behind bars. Yet again, Swamy put out a long thread on Twitter this morning, basically explaining how Rahul Gandhi was caught in a bubble trap of his own making.
Pappu caught in his own web.
Most people are aware that the Home Ministry has sent a notice to Rahul Gandhi regarding his citizenship. Why did the Ministry seek this clarification and what is the thought process behind sending the notice?

The entire issue of Rahul Gandhi’s duplicitous citizenship started after documents which stated him to be a British citizen were brought to the public forum. The documentation used by Dr. Swamy were the annual returns of the company. In the years 2005 and 2006, Rahul Gandhi had clearly stated his nationality as British in the documents.
In 2003, Rahul Gandhi floated a company by the name of Backops Services Private Limited, based out of New Delhi. Rahul Gandhi owned a share of 83 per cent in the company. A few months following this, Rahul Gandhi had expanded overseas, by incorporating a company in the UK in the name and style of Backops Limited, in 2003. The root cause of a majority of Rahul Gandhi’s current problems is this very company, which currently stands dissolved.
However, the sister company in India, Backops Services Private Limited, though not functional, has not been dissolved yet. The shares of this company were transferred to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The functioning of the company was marred with high profile projects such as Mumbai’s international airport terminal building, the commercial complex at Phoenix Mills, Belapur railway station, Headquarters for Wockhardt and buildings at the Osho Commune, Pune, amongst many others. How a start-up got these big projects is a wonder in itself. It seems Rahul Gandhi must have used his political clout in order to get these big deals for his company.
It is worthy to be mentioned here that Rahul Gandhi did not seek necessary permissions for setting up an offshore business entity like Backops. He did not avail permissions even during the UPA rule, as that would officially register the sources of funding, a parameter Rahul did not want to be made public.
4. Now let's come to the question that if he has property in UK why did he hide it from the Government. What was the reason behind this and what was the business he was doing in UK? Because his office is located 90 miles outside London in a remote village where no one resides.

If Rahul Gandhi has lied about his British citizenship, the government may cease his foreign assests, and saying that he is a British citizen, yet an MP in India might even land him in jail. Therefore, the Home Ministry notice to Rahul Gandhi asking for his official reply to their queries is a well-thought and framed notice, making the case against Rahul extremely watertight, leaving no scope for him to go scot-free.
Subramanian Swamy has spearheaded the fight against Gandhi family’s scandalous deals. Not only has he played a crucial role in getting many family loyalists behind bars for their corruption deals, but he has also ensured Sonia and Rahul Gandhi have a run for their life before eventually ending up in jail for their misdeeds. Currently, Swamy is pursuing the National Herald case with great vigour and determination. It is his belief that the mother-son duo would be landing in jail sooner or later, and if not for National Herald, for one among the many scams they are a part of.
