Did OYO turn down a Kashmiri? Hindu haunts the victim of a fake news forward with a fake news piece

OYO, The Hindu, Kashmiri

The Hindu is well known for pushing the left-liberal narrative and taking anti-corporate stance. It published an article with title, “OYO denies room to Kashmiri in Delhi, cites ‘WhatsApp text from govt.’ as reason.”

However, the story in the article paints a completely different picture from the title and it comes out that the hotel manager who denied the room to Kashmiri person was victim of fake news forward from WhatsApp. As per the The Hindu story, “The manager said they have received a few WhatsApp messages which were apparently from the government stating that people from Jammu and Kashmir should not be allowed in their hotels.”

If one reads the full story, it becomes very clear that OYO was nowhere involved in the process. The hotel manager became a victim of fake news and therefore the Kashmiri person was denied the room. But the title of the story makes OYO the culprit in the case.

This is not the first time that The Hindu has tried to sensationalize an issue and defame an institution or person. It carried many false news stories against Modi government in Rafale deal.

Earlier, The Hindu had published three articles titled ‘Defense Ministry protested against PMO undermining Rafale negotiations’‘Government waived anti-corruption clauses in Rafale deal’, and ‘Rafale deal not on ‘better terms’ than UPA-era offer’ on February 8, 11 and 13 respectively. All these articles used the photoshopped and cropped images of official documents from the Defence Ministry.

Later, news agency ANI published a copy of the original documents which exposed the fact that The Hindu published doctored images to strengthen its propaganda. Defence analyst, Abhijit Iyer Mitra also pointed out the inaccuracies in the articles by the Hindu, “I have to register my STRONG PROTEST with @the_hindu. It’s one thing having an editorial line but cropping out photos to avoid inconvenient facts like here where @manoharparrikar clearly instructs the DS MoD to coordinate with PMO (courtesy @ANI) is BLATANTLY UNETHICAL,” tweeted Mitra.

Later the organization published the column ‘Readers Editor’ in which it claimed that the documents accessed by ‘The Hindu’ are not doctored but they are subsequent documents. The newspaper also tried to justify whatever it did was in the name of public spirited journalism.

Left liberal media organizations like The Hindu are well known for sensationalizing issues. To attract more eyeballs, media organisations exaggerate everything and make sensational headlines. Most of the media organizations sensationalize issues like Ekta Kapoor serials than platforms for sensible coverage and informative reporting.

The left-liberal media establishment collaborates with the opposition, mainly Congress which has nurtured and nourished it since the days of state monopoly over media, and spreads ruckus. The state monopoly over media ended in last the few decades but the subservience of left-liberal media to Congress remains the same. The people in the media still pursue fear and rumor-mongering on the direction of their political masters.

The Hindu has unnecessarily tried to blame OYO Rooms in the story just to sensationalize the issue and get more eyeballs. The organization did not take care for the reputation damage of OYO in the case. Such irresponsible behavior by the left-liberal media establishment must come to an end otherwise they will lose whatever credibility is left of them.
