While Pakistani establishment struggles to soothe out the internal uproar after India’s move to abrogate Article 370 and bifurcate the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, help for the rogue nation is coming out from various pseudo-liberal media outfits based in India. The ones on the list, unsurprisingly are The Wire, The Quint, NDTV and Scroll. Now statements issued by the Editors Guild of India are being propagated in Pakistan through several media and official channels. In the statement Editors Guild of India has called the security preparations in the two newly created union territories as “almost total and draconian”. Pakistani media is now citing Indian Editors Guild for their propaganda against India.

While these statements are clearly skewed and only meekly employs hedged arguments to malign the security preparations in the two union territories, Pakistani deep state has been making the most out of these ‘concerns’ to its advantage in the anti-India front. Nonetheless, if one’s lopsided narrative is being used by a foreign aggressor against Indian national interest, it surely raises sharp questions around the intent of these organizations.
The Editors Guild in the past has also been called out for its highly divisive and objectively poor views on several issues, with most of the opinions amounting to just blatant fear-mongering and clear disconnect with ground realities. Nonetheless looking at the trend it is not surprising that enemies of the nation have picked up these vacuous comments to justify and propagate their anti-India agenda.
Specifically related to legislative developments in the two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, similar reports by The Wire, The Quint, NDTV and Scroll have not only been highly misleading but also reek of sinister intents.
The pseudo-liberal establishment in India has been infamous for aiding nefarious foreign propaganda to undermine India’s interests; and has evidently accelerated its efforts post the 2014 general elections. While the impact of these skewed attempts to hurt India’s interests both internally and geopolitically can be questioned, authorities should surely take on these ‘reports’ to keep a check on such activities where ulterior motives overpower ethics and sensitivity. These organizations are well known for weaving false narratives which work against Indian interests and in such a situation where a massive disinformation campaign is being mastered by Pakistan, the organizations are playing into their hands.
Earlier The Wire, a media outfit which has been called out a number of times for its skewed and controversial reporting on sensitive issues, had put out a ‘convenient’ report which was then used by the Pakistani deep state to further radicalize its population against India.
Recently the ruling party in Pakistan, PTI had tweeted a video clip from The Wire, claiming “While the world enjoys #LIVNOR, a Kashmiri mother mourns whose was shot from a pellet gun, a youngster full of dreams loses his sight, an elderly man in a hospital requests at least phones to be operational. Earlier Pakistani establishment had similarly used a video by NDTV, another controversial media outlet, to further propagate and justify their hate against India. However, NDTV in a surprising and shocking move came out and tried to distance itself away from the dangerous use of the misleading report.
In dearth of any locus standi on the legislative developments, Pakistan has largely been relying on Indian media including Wire, Quint and other such left-liberal outlets for its anti-India campaign. At this time while the nation is praying for the safety of people in Jammu and Kashmir and the lakhs of security personnel in the region, the infamously lethargic and biased Editors Guild is indirectly aiding enemies of the nation to further their agenda and mount further offences against innocent Indians in Jammu and Kashmir.
