Welcome to Mamata’s Bengal: A Class 1 student in West Bengal chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’, got mercilessly thrashed by teacher

In a shocking incident, a seven year old boy studying in class 1, was brutally thrashed by a West Bengal school teacher on Wednesday for chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’. As reported by Republic TV, the student, Aaryan Singh was chanting the slogan among many others at the Sri Ramakrishna Shikshalay in Howrah. However, he was allegedly selectively targeted by the teacher and beaten up to, perhaps, set an example for others as well. He was told not to ever chant the slogan both inside, as well as outside school. India TV has also reported that the father of the child is reluctant to file an FIR as he fears for the safety of his child.

The teacher, who was involved in the merciless and uncalled thrashing of the child only for chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’, is currently absconding as reported by Republic TV. The boy’s parents have stated that the school is absolutely uninterested in taking up the matter seriously with the police. Although the father has told the Principal about all the happenings, the school has made no effort to trace the teacher nor has it filed any police complaint on the matter, which therefore means that there is no FIR registered with the police in the matter, and the teacher is probably having a free run. Incidentally, the said school is sponsored by Mamata’s West Bengal government. The incident has traumatized the child, who is now adamant to not go to school, says his father. The father further said that they have never seen their child so nervous. According to the Right To Education Act 2007, any forms orms of physical violence for whatever reason by teachers upon students is prohibited. Further, the Juvenile Justice Act 2000 may also be brought in and the teacher may face jail time along with a fine, or both.

Mamata Banerjee and her supporters’ hatred for ‘Jai Shri Ram’ is well known. Mamata regularly lost her cool many a times during the election campaign upon hearing the slightest of this slogan and had many young men arrested only for chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’. It is shocking to see that this hatred for ‘Jai Shri Ram’ is now having it’s trickle-down effect in the schools of Bengal. Mamata Banerjee may not speak upon this brutality which has been inflicted upon a seven-year old boy by a teacher who probably had an inclination to the violent tendencies of the TMC and it’s supremo, as her unprovoked hostility towards the slogan has caused such a problem in the first place. Mahua Moitra recently gave a plagiarized yet a loud and aggressive speech on the floor of the Lok Sabha on the early signs of Fascism to target the Modi government. This incident of a poor boy being thrashed by his fanatical teacher may not remind Moitra of any one of those signs she mentioned. The hypocrisy of the MP is so startling that even a former High Court Judge called her out for her dishonesty. The TMC government and its loyalists in the media have remained absolutely silent on this incident.

The media which is usually very quick at reporting similar incidents where the victim is a non-Hindu, has, on expected lines, decided not to create much hustle in this matter where the victim is a seven year old Hindu in West Bengal. The same media did not care to rectify or apologize to the nation when they were exposed for having lied on the Kanpur and Gurugram cases of alleged mob violence by Hindus upon Muslims for not chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’. All these cases were later proven false. We can only imagine how the media shamelessly gets away every time by lying to the nation on similar instances. We hope that at least the BJP will ensure that the teacher involved in this crime is brought to justice in West Bengal where law and order has broken down.
