It is no secret that India has now become a significant dialogue partner for major countries on global platforms. With innumerable successful bilateral ties and cross border agreements, PM Modi had already become the apple of everyone’s eye. The winning of 2019 marks another row of greater international cooperation which is assured to important countries like Israel and Sri Lanka.
Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu initially twitted in the Hebrew script congratulating Narendra Modi but he also posted a Hindi translation of the same tweet. It was a kind gesture to show his support for his counterpart. He also mentioned that this victory of PM Modi is a proof of his great leadership and charisma that once again proved the might of world’s largest democracy under his pioneering. Sri Lanka which is still recovering from the terror attacks it faced last month has always played an important role in the South Asian politics. India and Sri Lanka has extended support to each other on various occasions. India had also helped Sri Lanka by providing constant intelligentsia on security issues. The bilateral ties were further strengthened with PM Modi as the state head. Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe took to twitter to congratulate PM Modi for the path breaking history. He also said that Sri Lanka looks forward to work closely with India.

It is important here, that neighbors like Afghanistan, despite going through tough times in the country has congratulated PM Modi and has put forward its hope for stronger ties with India. Ashraf Ghani, President of Afghanistan tweeted to Narendra Modi showing his appreciation on the strong mandate received by PM Modi. With political instability in Afghanistan, the role of Indian in establishing a prosperous democractic institution in Afghanistan is important. Hence Ghani has expressed his concern over propagating peace, regional cooperation and prosperity in all of South Asia.
