Prime Minister Narendra Modi is evidently one of the most charismatic leaders in the world. His energetic speeches attract crowds from each and every remote corners in India. His programme, on the All India Radio, named ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has been very successful, not only in engaging people of every age and region but also in setting an example by interacting with 1.3 billion Indians directly on a multitude of issues.
Continuing with his innovative and unique style, in an interview with Akshay Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a peek into his personal life. In the interview, PM Modi has made some revelations about his daily routine, likes and dislikes, his mindset and his relationship with some other political leaders.

Mentioning Mrs. Twinkle Khanna, Akshay Kumar’s wife in a sporting manner, he said “I always see social media, I get to know what’s going on the outside. I even see yours and Twinkle ji’s twitter account, and the way she vents her anger on me. I understand that surely helps keep peace in your family life,” PM Modi said in a light hearted manner. Twinkle Khanna has been critical of Narendra Modi on a number of occasions, however PM Modi’s attitude towards her is surely a display of the qualities of an understanding leader.

On Mamata Banerjee, who has been one of the staunchest critics of the Narendra Modi, Prime minister shared how even she sends him gifts. In the interview he said, “Even today, Mamata Banerjee sends one or two Kutras for me. Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina also sends sweets 3 or 4 times, if Mamata didi comes to know about this, she would also surely send me sweets one or two times.”
Talking about his junior colleagues in the cabinet he says, “I have not kept the aura of PM around myself, I am friendly with them, and I keep joking around them.”
On being asked about his relations with leaders of the opposition clan he said, “We are very good friends , we even have tea together one or two times an year, we also eat food together.” Recalling an incident with Gulam Nabi Azad, PM Modi said, “When I was not the Chief Minister, I had gone to the Parliament for some reason, and came out with Gulam Nabi Azad… Media asked, how can you be friends with Azad as you belong to the RSS, to which Gulam Nabi Azad had answered, “what you think of us outside that is not true, but we are connected like a family.”
On his seemingly strict image as an administrator, PM Modi replied to Akshay Kumar, “This image is not correct, if someone says I make them work, it is not right, yes , if someone says that they have to do a lot of work, that is true. I don’t pressurize any one. However when they see me, usually PM’s would leave office by 6 or 7 in the evening, in the afternoon also they would leave the office for one or two hours, they see me that I also put in efforts, I develops a team spirit…discipline cannot be enforced.”
This interview with Akshay Kumar gives us an insight into the life of a master administrator and a global leader. TRP driven mass media has always kept a distorted image in front of the viewers, however this interview gives out a clear picture of true personality of Narendra Modi.
