Media having another go at maligning Sadhvi Pragya’s image while ignoring the wrongs of Kamal Nath, Rahul and Sonia

A person is innocent until proven guilty and the pronouncement of a judicial acquittal definitely removes all lingering doubts. But apparently, looking at all the reactions of the liberal brigade, it seems that this principle is applicable in all cases except the ones involving people clad in saffron. The mainstream media has come out criticizing and condemning BJP’s decision to field Sadhvi Pragya from Bhopal constituency and the mainstream news headlines call her a ‘terror accused’, on the basis of their half baked knowledge.

#2019Elections update: Several mainstream media outlets and senior journalists call BJP's Bhopal candidate Sadhvi Pragya a terror accused. This is a blatant lie. Sadhvi has been acquitted.

Yesterday, BJP had announced its decision to field Sadhvi Pragya from the constituency of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh for the Lok Sabha elections. Sadhvi Pragya had been accused without valid proof for her involvement in the Malegaon blasts. For almost a decade, she was imprisoned and abused at the hands of the UPA government. Congress had gone on to accuse Sadhvi by coining terms such as ‘saffron terror’ and ‘Hindutva terror’. Her basic constitutional rights were denied to her when she wasn’t allowed legal representation and was subjected to brain mapping tests, polygraph tests and narcotics tests without consent. She faced such horrific torture that she was rendered a cripple, paralyzed from the waist down and even developed breast cancer. The media, who otherwise would have created a big issue out of this, turned a blind eye towards these atrocities. This bias draws motivation from the media’s unjustified negative opinion about people clad in saffron.

She is acquitted from court which was false narrative of Hindu terrorism now you don't trust judiciary also ? हिंदू कभी अक्रांता नहीं रहे इतिहास गवाह है ।टाइम पास के लिए कुछ भी न लिखे । फिर आप पड़ोसी देश में superStar बन जातें हैं । https://t.co/RhG0xogkH3

Eventually, after the NDA government came to power, Sadhvi Pragya’s cases were wrapped up. She had been accused under three cases, namely, the Sunil Joshi murder case, the Ajmer Dargah Blast case and the Malegaon case. While she was acquitted under the Sunil Joshi murder case, the charges were dropped against her in the Ajmer Dargah Blast case. In the Malegaon blast case however, the authorities are desperately trying to charge Sadhvi of involvement. This is evident looking at her torture, whose sole purpose was to make her falsely confess, but Sadhvi Pragya didn’t relent. The Supreme Court first dropped all charges against Pragya under the MCOCA act, and thereafter when a chargesheet was filed under the NIA special court, she was acquitted from that as well. Obviously, unsatisfied with the acquittal, fresh charges were filed against her in a special court under the UAPA act. These charges have been framed on the basis of no new evidence and hence the proceedings haven’t developed.

Now, with her candidature, the senior journalists and media organizations are calling her a ‘terror accused’.

This is …..speechless. How can a terror accused contest elections as a candidate of the governing party. What message are we sending to the world ? https://t.co/1fbybrUrSm

— sonia singh (@soniandtv) April 17, 2019

Let this sink in. She is the prime accused in the 2006/ 2008 Malegaon blasts that killed close to a hundred muslims. https://t.co/23epP00vfX

You want to know what is the difference between Bjp & other parties. No other party would be as toxic as to field a terror accused https://t.co/xlXJ5mCMjK

These are the same people who remained mum over the candidature of Kamal Nath in the past. Kamal Nath had been one of the key people suspected of involvement in the 1984 Sikh riots. Apart from the recount of the eyewitnesses, his involvement is evident from the fact that Congress had removed Nath as the party’s Punjab election in-charge after protests over his alleged role in the riots. Apart from the Indian suspicions, he was also summoned by a US federal district court over his involvement in the 1984 riots, when a civil case filed under the Alien Torts Claims Act, during his visit in 2010. The petitioners had sought compensatory and punitive damages for several allegations including crimes against humanity, degrading treatment and wrongful killing. Moreover, Rajiv Gandhi, who succeeded his mother Indira Gandhi as Prime Minister, had stated after his mother’s assassination, subsequently justifying the riots, “When a big tree falls, the earth shakes.” In spite of all these overwhelming facts, Kamal Nath is currently serving as the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. The entire media was silent on his appointment.

Keeping everything aside, the media isn’t even taking a look at the Congress party president and the heir to the dynasty’s prime ministerial candidate. Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia Gandhi, the former Congress party president, are currently being tried for corruption charges, in the National Herald Corruption case. They are currently out on bail for criminal misappropriation.

In spite of being aware of all the Congress centered crimes and atrocities, the media is strangely silent, seeming as though the cat has got their tongue. However, when it comes to accusing a four-time acquitted person, who has already been thoroughly abused and rendered disabled under the Congress regime, the journalists always take an aggressive stance.
