It seems nothing is now sacred for the TMC not even the lineage of one of Bengal’s greatest icons. On 24th April when Chandra Kumar Bose was on his way to file his nomination, he was attacked by TMC goons. The attack on Chandra Kumar Bose shows that in their quest for power, TMC has forgotten Bengal’s icons. Chandra Kumar Bose is contesting elections on a BJP ticket.
Chandra Kumar Bose, speaking to ANI, said, “More than a thousand TMC goons had assembled at chief minister’s residence to attack us. While they were attacking us, the police were silent spectators. The sheer strength of more than 6,000 BJP workers made them retreat otherwise we would have been killed”
In the process of winning this Lok Sabha election, TMC has put its morals and ethics aside and its workers are acting as complete hooligans. It is now directly attacking the legacy of a great freedom fighter, Subhash Chandra Bose. A legend of the freedom struggle and Bengal’s most priced gem, Bose and his lineage is now in danger under TMC rule in Bengal. It is a sad day for the country and especially for the people of Bengal who take pride in the legacy of Bose.
People of Bengal hold utmost regard for this national hero, for them, it is an honor to belong from the same roots where this dynamic leader culturally associates. Known in regard as Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, he is the flag bearer of the national mutiny that led to India’s independence. The attack on Chandra Kumar Bose is an attack on the pride of Bengali people. It is an attack on the vision of Netaji that inspired millions of his followers to stand up against tyranny and oppression. It will be difficult for the TMC to compensate for their unruly and disrespectful treatment of Bose and his family members.
For Bengalis, Netaji is not just a freedom fighter. He is venerated and revered as the very embodiment of Bengal’s spirit of resistance against injustice. Netaji had said “Freedom is not given, it is taken” Abiding by this rule, the people of Bengal will have to re-establish their cultural pride, their dignity and the legacies of the great leaders, which is ruthlessly crushed under the TMC regime in Bengal.
The TMC government on various occasions has attacked the democratic framework of the electoral race. It is shameful that the ruling government is doing everything possible to dismantle the integrity of the election process instead of strengthening it further. By attacking Chandra Kumar Bose, TMC has dealt a final blow to its electoral prospects as well as its political future. Bengal will never forgive this slight against the icon and neither will rest of the country.
