PM Modi is on a roll as of now. Ever since the Pulwama attacks claimed the lives of more than 44 of CRPF personnel, the nation had demanded effective retribution against the perpetrators of this attack, comfortably stationed at Pakistan. Upholding the sentiments of the people as supreme, PM Modi led NDA government gave nod to the security forces to deal with the terrorists as and when they wished to.
As a result, a special squadron of IAF fighter jets flew off to destroy the terror camps of the main accused, i.e. terror outfit Jaish e Muhammad. Not only did they destroy the terror camps situated in Balakot, Chakoti, and Muzaffarabad, they also decimated the control rooms of the same. Approximately 250-350 terrorists had been neutralized in these air strikes.
However, this didn’t stop the opposition from resorting to dirty politics. Led by Rahul Gandhi, who accused BJP of politicizing these air strikes, to the likes of Mamata Banerjee and Digvijay Singh, who demanded proof of the same, the opposition was back to their old tricks.
Congress leader Digvijay Singh praised Pakistan PM Imran Khan for his ‘peace’ gesture and asked the government to provide the evidence of airstrikes in Balakot.
This was nothing different from their antics in 2016 when the Para SF troopers of Indian Army conducted cross border surgical strikes in response to the Uri attacks on the Indian Army base camp. Led by Arvind Kejriwal, the opposition refused to accept the valor of the Indian Army and demanded proof of the same.
However, this time, PM Modi would have none of their tomfooleries. While addressing the NDA Sankalp Rally, he minced no words in bashing the opposition for having doubted the valor of the IAF squadrons. To quote him, “When there was a need to speak as one against terror-factories, 21 parties in Delhi came together to protest against the NDA. Citizens won’t forgive it. Rather than encouraging the forces, they’re doing and saying things that are making the enemies smile.
They let our soldiers down in the hour of need by questioning and seeking proof of IAF air strike on Jaish camps in Pakistan.”
He also declared, “Opposition tries to bring down Modi, while I insist on joining hands in countering terrorism and bringing an end to it.”
To be honest, the incumbent government has been one of the few governments in the history of India that has actually struck down hard on cross border terrorism.
The present government never obstructed the armed forces from pulling out all stops to ensure that India stays terror-free. As such, if someone dares to mock their valor, none should hesitate from calling out their hypocrisy.
