Congress leaders back to their dirty tricks, insult the IAF and Wing Commander Abhinandan

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh is in news and this time again as usual for all the wrong reasons. He praised Pakistan PM Imran Khan for releasing Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman and he also said that the incumbent government should provide evidence of the airstrikes in Balakot, in Pakistan.

The news agency PTI quoted Digvijay Singh as saying, “But the pictures of any incident in open space can be accessed through satellite technology. So we should also give evidence, the way the United States government presented evidence before the world on (the killing of) Osama bin Laden.”

The senior Congress leader also said, “I also congratulate the honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan that he showed a new way of being a good neighbour and returned the brave officer of Indian Air Force to us.”

There are some people who place more trust in propaganda material of enemy country than their own country and its subjects. There are certain limits to indulging in politics and national security is one such topic where every political party should refrain from playing dirty. There are some politicians whose thinking is very dangerous for the country.

What Digvijay Singh has said is no less than undermining the IAF. As if it was not enough, another Congress leader ended up insulting a brave IAF pilot. Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid rushed to give credit to UPA government for Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s bravery. He tweeted, “Many kudos for Wing Commander abhi Varthaman the face of India’s resistance to enemy aggression. Great poise and confidence in face of adversity. We are proud that he received his wings in 2004 and matured as fighter pilot during UPA.”

It seems that there is a competition going on within the Congress party: who would emerge as the principal competitor to party president Rahul Gandhi in terms of stupidity. It seems that anyone expecting maturity from Congress would always feel disappointed. It would not be surprising at all if one day Congress party start taking credit of birth of all achievers.

Salman Khurshid received huge flak on social media for his stupid tweet.

Just wondering if you are going to congratulate the govt or the PM of the year he was born.

Politicians will play cheap politics, we have almost surrendered to that fact but do they need to be invariably dumb while doing it??

— shilpi tewari (@shilpitewari) March 2, 2019

Shefali Vaidya tweeted, “What next? Wing Cmdr Abhinandan was born in 1983, so all credit to Indira Gandhi for his birth?”

One Twitter user said, “We are proud that even while UPA kept him outdated via MIG 21, he showed exemplary courage and poise during Modi’s govt. And the reason is Modi govt has given forces free hand , always stood with them and always took care of their welfare.”

Many other Twitter users also took a jibe on Salman Khurshid. He ended up becoming a laughing stock in the end.

You should have also said that this enemy was created by Great Nehru in 1947 so that Abhinandan could fight with them in 2019….😂

What a farsightedness he had….

— Sparkler (@uZruuDohin5gTKW) March 2, 2019

Maybe you forgot to add that he was flying an outdated MiG also because of UPA

— Iswaran N.P. (Modi Ka Parivaar) 🇮🇳 (@NPIswaran) March 2, 2019

Salmanji ,few good words for Middle Class Indians from Mumbai who survived UPA regime ,traveled to work by public transport under fear of Terror Attack, who cried for onions without cutting them, stood in Que for Gas Cylinder , faced shortage of essentials during festivals etc

— Padmaja 🇮🇳 (@prettypadmaja) March 3, 2019

Now, Salman Khurshid has also joined the league of Mani Shankar Aiyar, Digvijay Singh and Rahul Gandhi. How one party manages to produce so many ‘gems’? It’s a topic of research.

Even as the nation celebrates the return of its hero, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, we should not forget that the braveheart was made to fly a MiG-21 Bison well past its retirement as against the PAF F-16 fighter jet. He fought valiantly against the fourth generation, highly trusted F-16. While MiG-21 is a vintage second-generation aircraft, F-16 is a far superior and highly trusted fourth generation fighter jet. The way he handled the situation is a testament to his excellent training, unmatchable valour and his nerves of steel. The talent, skill, and valour of IAF pilots were never in doubt. However, the question that arises is why the IAF pilot had to go through aerial combat with the F-16 in a MiG-21 Bison.
