The Congress had claimed yesterday that the country’s Prime Minister Modi was participating in a film shoot at the Corbett after the Pulwama terror attack. Congress chief spokesperson, Rajdeep Surjewala had launched a verbal assault on PM Modi in the most undignified manner. He alleged, “What is unpardonable is that when the entire nation was stunned by the Pulwama terror attack last Thursday, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was busy picnicking in Jim Corbett National Park, Ramnagar, Naitnital and was participating in a photo shoot of Discovery Channel.” He added, “He was staring at gharials [crocodiles] up to 6:30 p.m. Is there any PM in the world like this?” Not only this, Surjewala also released a photograph showing PM Modi at the Jim Corbett National Park.
This lie was clearly exposed after it was reported that as per government sources, PM Modi was informed about the terror attack at 4 PM when he was in Corbett. PM Modi has learnt to have been angry about being reported late. He immediately held a review meeting till 4: 45 PM and this is also the reason why he did not go to the Rudrapur rally. He concluded the address through a phone in just five minutes. This incident brought to light how the Congress was relying on outright lies and concoctions in order to mislead the nation and make petty political gains.
However, what is even more shocking is the fact that now it seems that while the Congress went after PM Modi on the basis of false claims and outright lies, it deleted a video it had posted on its own Twitter handle which exposes the apathy of the Congress towards the Pulwama martyrs. In this video, Congress president, Rahul Gandhi can be seen dancing hours after the Pulwama terror attack. The tweet along with the video read, “an incredible amount of love & support showered on Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Valsad, Gujarat after his rally.” This exposes the apathy of Rahul Gandhi and the INC towards the martyrs.
It seems that the Congress instantly realised that this video could backfire and lead to severe criticism. The entire nation was angered by the dastardly terror attack carried out by Pakistan and a video of their party president dancing shortly after the attack would have led to their drawing a lot of flak.
It is utterly insensitive and shameless of the Congress and its president, to first go dancing shortly after the nation was in a state of grief over the terror attack and then to hide things under the carpet by deleting the said tweet. What is even more shameful and disgusting on the part of the Congress is to shift the blame on the Prime Minister instead by propagating a false claim. One wonders if there is any sense of moral righteousness left within the grand old party. Electoral drubbings have made it a desperate political outfit which can stoop to any low in order to gain publicity.
