The cyber cell of Delhi police has arrested the notorious social media user and owner of the website called Viralinindia.net, Abhishek Mishra, for making derogatory comments on women and religion. According to Delhi Police, “Abhishek Mishra was arrested police received a complaint about him posting offensive and vulgar posts apart from posts that hurt religious feelings on online platforms operated by the accused. He was arrested after complaint found true.”

According to media reports, the Delhi police have also found that he forged IDs.

According to a Times of India report, the police is verifying the IDs which Abhishek Mishra had used for the Internet connection and the SIM cards. The TOI quoted its sources claiming that both IDs were found to belonging to someone else. According to the Police, the man claims to be a former member of the Congress party. There are many pictures of Abhishek Mishra with senior Congress leaders doing rounds in the social media.

As per the report, Abhishek Mishra masqueraded as a news media personality and an RTI activist. He was found indulged in spreading fake news and making abusive remarks against women and several religious communities. He revealed that he used to earn money by posting such comments; however, Mishra maintained that he is unaware of the source of such income. He also told police that his posts were his personal views. The Police have also taken the possession of 10 laptops from his house, while it also suspects the involvement of more people.

Earlier, in 2016 also, Abhishek was arrested by MP Police.
The website, Viralinindia.net, run by him is full of fake news. It maintains a sheer bias against the BJP and its leaders. Fake quotes against PM Modi and BJP leaders are also shared by Abhishek’s FB page by attributing them to famous personalities. His website also posts many pro-Islamist propaganda materials, and all other sorts of ridiculous and nonsensical news are posted on the website.
Alexa rank of viralinindia.net is 320, which is higher than the many mainstream media outlets and various online news websites. Alexa is web traffic data, global rankings, and other information on 30 million websites. His page on Facebook- Viral in India- also enjoys huge followership of millions.
Such a high Alexa rank, vast social media outreach with nefarious intentions is nothing but a recipe of disaster. He increased reach and popularity of his website and page by spreading all sorts of fake news and carrying out anti-BJP agenda. Unfortunately, none of the mainstream media houses who cry 24×7 about the menace of fake news bothered to carry out a report against Abhishek Mishra and his misuse of social media. The cabal treated him like a celebrity because of his anti-Modi and anti-BJP agenda. Twitter is also responsible for mushrooming of fake news peddlers like Abhishek Mishra, despite the fact that his tweets were abusive and full of hatred. He managed to get his account verified while accounts of other Twitter users have been immediately suspended just for exposing the dirty propaganda of the Congress and the Left.
