In Hindi, we are often reminded of the futility of the individual with the oft repeated quote ‘Akela Chana Bhaad Nahin Fod Sakta’ [A single gram cannot break a mound]. However, the release of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ trailer on YouTube seems to have demolished this notion to smithereens.
It’s been a week and despite all odds stacked against them, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ has struck a chord with the audience, with the movie trailer maintaining its position in the coveted Trending list on YouTube. It has also garnered more than 39 million views within a week and is all set to breach the 40 million mark.
However, there is a mysterious development that has surfaced in the past few days. According to vigilant netizens, the trailer of The Accidental Prime Minister is apparently missing from YouTube. Actor Anupam Kher, who plays the eponymous role, also highlighted the fact that the movie trailer seems to be missing from youtube.
This is quite unusual, since any Trending video on YouTube comes within the first 10-15 searches on the site. When we did the same with Thackeray’s official trailer, it came up well within the first search itself, despite being no more in Trending. Even the revised trailer of ‘Uri’, which was under controversy for the removal of the ’72 virgins’ reference.
It seems that the omission of the official trailer from the searches is not ‘accidental’, but deliberate. Despite all the brickbats given by the left liberal ecosystem, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ has continued to attract viewers on YouTube, with over 39 million views on YouTube alone as of now, and most of the viewers have expressed their solidarity with the makers, vowing to watch the movie in theatres. Even Anupam Kher, who has portrayed as the ex PM Manmohan Singh in the movie with aplomb, has expressed his anger, as reflected in the following tweet:

With this ‘accidental’ omission of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ from YouTube, there are a few questions that are now nagging us persistently.
Is it the biased attitude of left-liberal platforms like YouTube, Facebook etc, who’re well notorious for their inclination towards the leftist discourse of the political spectrum by their own admission? It isn’t unlikely as well since such platforms are well known for peddling liberal propaganda, as reflective in the massively disliked ‘YouTube Rewind 2018’ Despite gaining massive footfalls within the day of the trailer launch, the uncensored trailer of ‘Uri’ wasn’t included at all in the Trending list.
Interestingly, the movie trailer of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ was amongst the top 5 of the Trending List till 31st December. Within two days, the position, however, dropped surprisingly to the 18th position. Had it been the case with ‘Mulk’ or ‘Mukkabaaz’, the left-liberals would’ve brought the whole house down. However, despite all odds, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ makers have refused to bow down and have decided to go ahead with the theatrical release. We hope that the movie turns out to be as authentic and brave as the trailer.
