The state of Jharkhand had witnessed massive political instability and inconsistency till 2014. The condition of the mineral-rich state was such that no CM prior to the incumbent Chief Minister, Raghubar Das has been able to complete his full term. Other major problems which the state had to combat were naxal violence, mass conversions done by missionaries, ever-increasing communal clashes owing to a large number of vested interests amongst communities, the prevalence of illiteracy and malnutrition in the state. Since the state was almost devoid of political stability, such problems could not be managed properly. Das, who happens to be the first non-tribal CM of the state of Jharkhand, became the Chief Minister of the state on December 28, 2014.
However, CM Raghubar Das who inherited a bundle of problems perpetrated in the state in face of political instability when the BJP came at the helm of affairs in the state in 2014, has brought political stability along with rapid development to the state. He has successfully completed four years as the CM of Jharkhand and has become the first Chief Minister in the state to do so. He not only achieved this milestone but has also set new benchmarks as far as transparency and development are concerned.
On the occasion of completing four years in office, Das released a report of his government’s performance during his tenure as the Chief Minister of the state. This document stated that in the last four years, over 35 lakh youth have been provided jobs in the state. It also provided that over a lakh youth, 95 per cent of whom belong to Jharkhand, have been provided government jobs. Das said that under his tenure, the number of homes with electricity connection has gone up from 38 lakhs to 67 lakhs. This gives a proper account of the phenomenal development that the state has witnessed under the leadership of Raghubar Das.
The incumbent Chief Minister has ensured that the state is going through a phase of rapid development and he has even more ambitious goals for the future. He underlined his goal to double farmers’ income in the state by the year 2022. This clearly shows the intent and vision of CM Raghubar Das to ensure that the state touches new highs when it comes to development and progress.
Raghubar Das took to Twitter on the occasion of completing four terms in office. He thanked the people for their support and highlighted the phenomenal development that has taken place in the state. He said, “Today your government has completed four years. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with you support, Jharkhand is on a path to development. Because of the permanent government, the development in the state has accelerated. Thank you for giving the state a stable government.”

Raghubar Das has not only brought political stability to the state of Jharkhand but has also put the mineral-rich state on the path of rapid development. Raghubar Das is undoubtedly the best thing which has happened to the state of Jharkhand. History will undoubtedly judge him in a very fair way and he will always be seen as the man who brought Jharkhand out of an era of political instability and took the people of the state on the path of rapid development.
