The year 2018 has been a roller coaster year, to be honest, with lots of ups and downs that surprised people like nothing else. Be it stalwarts biting the dust in cinema, or surprise results in politics, 2018 has been anything but drab, to be honest.
As people are bidding goodbye to 2018, a few diehards are still up, remembering the most iconic events that occurred in 2018. This is what exactly propelled the ‘Rewind fest’, where some of the irreplaceable achievements accomplished in 2018 were remembered for one last time before welcoming 2019 with open arms.
Inspired by the controversial ‘YouTube Rewind 2018’, our beloved Congress put up a rewind of their own, where they mentioned some of the iconic events that occurred in 2018 through the Indian perspective. Following is a link of the video they tweeted:-

The video tweet as published by the official Twitter handle seemed to have immense popularity, with over 822 retweets and 2300+ likes and counting. However, if one delves deeper, one finds something else, which is certainly not sweet.
When I joined this profession, my mentor gave me a very valuable piece of advice: If you wish to copy, never do so for the sake of copying. Going by the contents of the video, it looks like Congress took no lesson from the brickbats the original YouTube rewind 2018 received for the pathetic content they peddled in the name of revisiting 2018.
To begin with, the Congress rewind 2018 was anything but positive. From showing injured stone pelters as oppressed victims, to peddling selective outrage on cases of mob lynching, the Kathua rape case etc., the video looked less of a rewind and more of the very election propaganda that Congress and their cronies are wrongly accusing movies like ‘Uri’ and ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ for.
For more than 2 minutes of the total length of the video, Congress only peddled propaganda, and in order to show the positivity, they created a hotchpotch of the positive achievements. However, in their attempt to present themselves as neutral, they did something that destroyed their entire game plan. Towards the end of the video, the Congress Rewind 2018 showed the rather absurd Kiki challenge as an Indian achievement of 2018.
Let that sink in. For our progressive Congress, the stupid, rather dangerous Kiki challenge, based on a forgettable song from Canadian singer Drake, was an achievement for India in the year of 2018. The danger associated with this challenge compelled most of the Indian police in various states to ban the challenge. Ironically, this Kiki challenge was a positive trend for Congress, as shown in their Rewind video.
No wonder Congress was trolled left right and center for this absurd inclusion throughout Twitter. BJP spokesperson and quirky entrepreneur Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga echoed the sentiments as he posted his objection on Twitter:-

KiKi challenge was one of the most absurd and dangerous trends of social media in 2018. By endorsing and supporting the Kiki challenge, Congress has shown it has no idea either what appeals to the youth or how a national party should behave on social media platforms. Not surprising at all since their 48 years old party president still pretends to be a ‘youth leader’.
