The TRS government of Telangana led by KCR during its rule has earned an image of a party which is dedicated and devoted to Muslim appeasement only. KCR started this appeasement game way back in 2014 within months of ascending the throne. He embarked on his appeasement journey with an opening line; “The Telangana government is here to serve you”.
He promised Rs 1,000 crores for Muslim welfare and Rs 50,000/ for the marriage of poor Muslim girls. It was then followed by the announcement of 12% reservation for Muslims and an Iftar party hosted by his Government in July this in LB Stadium. KCR and his government have taken Muslim appeasement to a hideous extreme.
There is immense anger among the people of Telangana against the Muslim appeasement politics of KCR. When it comes to Muslim appeasement, KCR is the perfect competitor of Mamata Banerjee and Chandrababu Naidu. He did everything for the welfare of Muslims and their institutions at the altar of Hindus and their concerns.
While KCR and TRS continue to dole out free electricity and special perks to Mosques and churches, Bhadrachalam, a place associated with Bhagwan Ram lies in shambles. Bhadrachalam is known as the Ayodhya of the South among the devotees of Bhagwan Ram. The issue of negligence of development of Bhadrachalam is a big electoral issue among the locals.
The TRS government has completely neglected this temple town. The state government failed to provide basic amenities in Bhadrachalam. About 32 kilometers from this temple, there is a place called ‘Parnasala’, it is believed that Bhagwan Ram here spent a part of his 14 years of exile and from where the demon king Ravana had abducted Sita.
The PTI has quoted a local saying, “It is sad to see that this place does not even have a place to dump the household garbage. The garbage collected is being dumped at the bank of river Godavari.” Another local devotee echoed the same view, “We are very disappointed with the present regime.”
A devotee while standing in a queue for ‘darshan’ at the Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple said, “The government has not yet released funds totaling Rs 100 crore for the development of the town. I feel the development work has not begun as the government does not want to demolish the Seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’s mutt.”
No TRS leader has visited the Bhadrachalam despite visiting the neighboring constituencies. In the past two years, KCR has not even attended the annual Ram Navami celebrations in the temple town.
Balakrishna, a manager in a local hotel, said, “So much has been neglected that KCR did not take part in the ‘Ram Navami’ festival in the last two years. It is a custom that the Chief Minister presides over the festival but he sent his grandson, hurting the sentiments of locals.”
The BJP has taken up the issue of the neglect of the temple town and has promised to include it in the Ramayana circuit. The party has also promised a 100 crore fund to develop the town. Along with spreading its base in Telangana, the BJP is also attacking the Muslim appeasement politics of Telangana CM, KCR. The BJP knows that there is anger among people of Telangana against the appeasement politics of the CM. Recently, the BJP President Amit Shah lambasted Telangana CM KCR for not celebrating 17th September as Hyderabad Liberation Day due to fear of AIMIM. Invoking Telugu Pride, Amit Shah said, “People who talk about Telugu pride stopped celebrating Telangana Liberation Day on September 17 because KCR is scared of MIM and its president Asaduddin Owaisi.” He also said that a party that comes under pressure from Owaisi and AIMIM can never protect the pride and honor of Telangana. Amit Shah promised that if the BJP is voted to power in Telangana then it would celebrate grand Telangana Liberation Day in the entire country.
