First it was Twitter India’s CEO Jack Dorsey who got his picture clicked as he held an Anti-Brahmin poster that read ‘Smash Brahminical Patriarchy’. Then came the British propaganda machinery- BBC- which too displayed its anti-Brahmin mindset as BBC Hindi came up with a despicable cartoon on the entire “Smash Brahmanical Patriarchy” row.

Congress party has jumped the gun on the issue as its Member of Parliament from Rajasthan’s Bhilawara constituency, CP Joshi stirred the controversy with his recent statement.
In poll bound Rajasthan, where polling is set to take place on 7th December the remarks of CP Joshi are nothing but a thoughtful move by the Congress Party to vilify Brahmins. In a video that is tweeted by a BJP MLA Harsh Sanghavi, the Congress leader is heard bashing Prime Minister Modi, Uma Bharti and Sadhvi Rithambara on their caste. He said:
“Does anyone know what is the caste of Uma Bharti? What is the caste of Sadhvi Rithambhara? In this country, if anyone knows about religion, it is the pandits and the Brahmins,” he says adding, “It is strange that Uma Bharti, who is of the Lodh samaj is talking about Hindu religion, Sadhviji is of some religion and she is talking about Hindu religion, Narendra Modiji is of some other religion and he is talking about Hindus.”
Adding to the wave of Brahmin bashing, the comments of CP Joshi are Congress’ attempts to further vilify the Brahmins by reinforcing the notion of ‘Brahmin supremacy’. Indeed it is this one thing that Brahmins have always been accused of and the statement of CP Josh very well establishes this fact. By his statement he is trying to instill in the mindset of people the assumed pride that they should have for being ‘Brahmins’ and wants them to look at people from lower community with hatred.
In order to register his stance with people he didn’t even spare Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he was happily denouncing his caste. He further went on to categorize Uma Bharti and Sadhvi Rithambhara’s caste as he called them to be of lower community.
The one’s who are seeing this as Congress’ attempt to ‘appease Brahmins’ are actually mistaken, CP Joshi is actually making attempts to further demonize the community by proving Jack Dorsey’s poster of ‘Smash Brahminical Patriarchy’ & BBC Hindi’s cartoon to be absolutely correct with his statement.
As soon as the controversy broke out, Congress Party President dissociated himself with his statement, as he asked CP Joshi to apologize for his statement.

CP Joshi’s attempt to demonize Brahmins with lewd remarks has actually validated what Dorsey and BBC Hindi had earlier attempted. It seems Joshi himself being a Brahmin has not actually understood the real meaning of being Brahmin. A Brahmin is not who belittles people from other communities but works in tandem with people from different sections of the society, to uplift them by imparting knowledge and by dedicatedly working towards nation building.
