(We will turn Kashmir into Pakistan with Kashmiri Pandit women, but without their men)

“Kashmir banega Pakistan” (Kashmir will become Pakistan)

“Pakistan se kya Rishta? La Ilah-e- Illalah” (Islam defines our relationship with Pakistan)

On a cold night in January 1990, the streets of Srinagar shook with these lethal chants . The edifice of so-called ‘Kashmiriyat’ had finally been proven hollow, incapable of resisting the onslaught of a rabid, virulent strain of Islam. On that cold night, history and politics overlapped and a deluge swept across Kashmir, flushing out the Kaffirs (non-believers/non-Muslims), labeling them outsiders and making them refugees in their own country.

Centuries of co-existence were set aside as neighbors turned on their Kashmiri Pandits, taunting them to flee, leaving behind their womenfolk. Walls were plastered with posters and handbills, issuing diktats to Kashmiri Pandits to strictly follow Islamic dress code; hate speeches appealing to unleash violence against Kashmiri Pandits were made from the mosques. Shops, business establishments and homes of Kashmiri Pandits, the original inhabitants of the Kashmir valley were looted and destroyed. Notices were posted outside their homes asking them to leave their Kashmir immediately or face death and worse. Kashmiri Hindus became the first casualties in the battle of political Islam. In order to save their lives from Islamists, lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits left their homeland and became refugees in their own country.

It has been around three decades to the forced exodus and Kashmiri Pandits are still awaiting justice. Even worse, jhola-wallah secular brigade and their coteries shamelessly justified the exodus of Kashmiri pandits. Some of them went ahead and claimed that no exodus or genocide of Kashmiri pandits has ever taken place and Kashmiri Pandits have “migrated on their own”, and their ‘displacement was self-imposed.

The so-called fourth pillar of the democracy has not shown any interest to the plight of Kashmiri Pandits as the transgressors were muslim. When some journalists decided to “investigate” the forced exodus they could not resist inserting the discredited ‘class struggle’ theory. Here is one such example where controversial charlatan journalist Barkha Dutt , can be seen talking about how the Kashmiri Pandits were wealthy in the valley as compared to Muslim majority of the region and this was one of the earliest reason of popular discontent in the state. Barkha can be heard saying, “Today hapless victims, they were once privileged elites of the valley. They may have been a minority but at that time, they had monopolized government jobs, plum postings and other such social benefits. In fact, the sharp economic disparity between the Pandits and the poor Muslim majority was one of the earliest reasons for popular discontent in the state.”

https://twitter.com/Satyanewshi/status/1061119145817731073

Such an abhorring statement reminds people of Nazi propaganda. Nazis also used to do the same thing. In order to justify genocide of Jews, they used economic, religious and racist arguments.

Kashmiri Pandits who endured traumatic events of 1990s took serious offence of garbage perpetrated by Barkha Dutt and bogus arguments made by her in defense of that 24 seconds video clip. Barkha Dutt in her defense said, “You could argue that my historical analysis as a young reporter is incorrect or that today I have layers of information and experience to add to it.” Leading Indian journalist and author, Rahul Pandita countered all the bogus claims made by a serial agenda peddler.

The fake news industry and the business of shaping opinions in a particular way has existed from much earlier times than we realise. Here’s a great example. https://t.co/6hSHOAI74a

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 12, 2018

Unexpectedly Aarti Tikoo Singh also had a word of advice for the usual suspect.

For the record, she had close to 10 years experience as an active TV reporter in 2004. https://t.co/E9Hw76hbCc

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 13, 2018

Rahul Pandita continued his assault and called Barkha on her bluff.

“You could argue that my historical analysis as a young reporter is incorrect,” Barkha says in her defence. What does that even mean! How many young reporters reporting from, say, Kashmir, would you allow to get away with that today? https://t.co/xqDS1jumkL

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 13, 2018

When another journalist Aarti Tikoo Singh asked Barkha to correct herself, she ended up losing her control and vilified Rahul Pandita.

Am not going to respond to you arti if you quote this fraud of a hatemonger happy to talk to you separately

— barkha dutt (@BDUTT) November 13, 2018

Aarti reacted strongly to the vilification of Rahul Pandita.

I strongly object to your vilification of @rahulpandita. He is none of what you accuse him of. And I don’t need you to tell me anything separately on a historical question which is a matter of public debate. Your response here speaks volumes about what Delhi media is all about.

— Aarti Tikoo (@AartiTikoo) November 13, 2018

Rahul Pandita further exposed the bogus ‘economic disparity’ argument peddled by Barkha.

And get away with what! “They had monopolised government jobs, plum postings and other such social benefits.” This is not historical analysis. What monopoly did the Pandits have? A few examples in this thread below. https://t.co/VnbkYZnO3H

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 13, 2018

Barkha’s claim that Hindus had monopolized government jobs and plum postings was the exact opposite of the truth, as Kashmiri Pandits were the targets of discrimination, well before their forced exodus.

In the 60s the Pandits faced terrible discrimination. Medical and Engineering students were asked to leave seats they had earned for students of majority community because “aap logon ka to India hai, aap kahin bhi ja sakte hein.”

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 13, 2018

Rahul pointed at instances where Hindu women were forced to sell their Mangalsutras so they could send their kids to colleges outside of Kashmir.

Some top Pandit doctors in Delhi-NCR today were victims of this discrimination. The renowned ophthalmologist Dr Ashok Raina’s mother had to sell her Dejharu (Mangalsutra) to send him to a medical college outside Kashmir.

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 13, 2018

The false narrative that was being peddled by Barkha Dutt was further exposed when Rahul quoted author Reshi Dev’s book on Kashmir politics.

Here is an excerpt from the Kashmiri Communist leader Reshi Dev’s political diary about usury and landlordism. pic.twitter.com/ZTvCunAQ4r

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 13, 2018

Rahul Pandita pointed at the racial, anti-hindu jeers and taunts that Kashmiri Pandits were made a target of, by the local Muslims. To add, hindu shops and businesses being burnt to ground were made a regular occurrence, well before the forced exodus.

"that the Muslims in Kashmir… should feel hurt over the shooting incident at the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem… But why should they try to attack the U.N. office and church in Srinagar, burn and loot shops belonging to the minority community, set fire to cars…” TOI, Ap 17, 82 pic.twitter.com/K8Z7UsPBDF

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 13, 2018

He then posted an image of the poster that was circulated in the valley, to intimidate Kashmiri Pandits into leaving the valley.

One of the posters used by Islamists in 1989-90 to force the Pandits into exile. pic.twitter.com/tOgUbQSDya

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 13, 2018

Other twitter handlers also participated in exposing Barkha Dutt.

the big landholders in 1950s before the land reform. you see people related to dogra family, people working for the family, both hindus and muslims, and you see muslim religious institutions…no privileged KP temple. pic.twitter.com/kAG7DqV4N4

— SearchKashmir (@searchkashmir) November 13, 2018

Rahul then pointed at the deliberate omission of historical facts and public data by the biased journo Barkha Dutt.

Obviously all these were in public domain much before 2004. But Barkha chose to peddle a string of lies about the position and monopoly of Kashmiri Pandits. Imagine how many people would have seen that show and formed opinion about what happened to us in 1990! https://t.co/9uwh8tIoEo

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 13, 2018

A twitter handle by the name searchkashmir came out with a list of zamindars in Bijbehara, majority of whom were muslims. The fact that it was a major site of violence against Kashmiri Pandits, pointed at the shallowness of ‘economic disparity’ claim made by the infamous journo Barkha Dutt.

This is breakdown of bijbehara in 1890. 80 muslim zamindars. In 1986, bijbehara was site of violence against pandits. Now, how can one tell Kps of bijbehara that they were privileged? pic.twitter.com/Zuzs3IBm69

— SearchKashmir (@searchkashmir) November 13, 2018

Keerthik Sasidharan lashed out at the leftists for their typical ‘class struggle’ argument, something the leftists use to justify atrocities where muslims have been the transgressors.

Sounds like a standard Leftist line about class struggle by proxy that is not very original, & most likely false on closer empirical inspection. Similar arguments v/s Tamils in 70s SriLanka, against Chinese ethnics in Malaysia, against Gujarati/Ismailis in '60s/70s East Africa.. https://t.co/JUAJszo87C

— keerthik śaśidharan (@KS1729) November 13, 2018

Islamist pages like Ghanta Ghar – Kashmir, justified the Kashmiri Pandit massacre, by conveniently using the video of Barkha Dutt on the issue.

Look who else apart from whom Barkha Dutt calls hatemongers shared her video clip? Pro-jihadi website in Kashmir that uses this clip to justify the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus in 1990. pic.twitter.com/6Qz9Q1rbiT

— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) November 14, 2018

Aditya Raj Kaul further called Barkha out, on the deliberate dereliction of her duties as a journalist and her agenda driven reporting on the issue.

Bullshit. Terrified that Barkha’s lack of knowledge on Kashmir and half-truths are being justified blatantly. Back in 2008 a friend from NDTV called to say how she had banned me from appearing on her channel because she was uncomfortable with my opinion on Islamist Terrorism. https://t.co/F1z1mKRisH

— Aditya Raj Kaul (@AdityaRajKaul) November 13, 2018

One thing that leftists excel at, is peddling their nefarious agenda/narrative in such a way, that those who perpetuate the atrocities are portrayed as victims and the victims are presented as vicious people that perpetuated the act of brutality.

It’s only because of people like Rahul Pandita and Aditya Raj Kaul that nation today knows about the plight of Kashmiri Pandits. Otherwise ‘seculars’ were ready with their arms and ammunition to sacrifice the entire community of Kashmiri pandits for the sake of their pseudo secularism.

As far as Barkha Dutt is concerned she is notorious for peddling a particular agenda and time and again people have exposed her, but she doesn’t let that deter her from spreading her nefarious agenda.
