Ahead of the 2019 general elections, in a bid to counter anti-India propaganda spread by China and Pakistan, the Indian government has launched around two dozen FM stations along the border areas from Rajasthan to Arunachal Pradesh. This step has been taken to counter the anti-India propaganda which is spread in India by our neighboring countries Pakistan and China using radios and television.
The Indian government has installed a high-power transmitter in Jammu and Kashmir near the Pakistan border, so as to give suitable reply to the lies spread by Pakistani channels. The lies could easily be exposed and countered by increasing the reach of DD Kashmir. It’s really important to counter the venomous propaganda sponsored by Pakistan. TV shows of the terrorist state of Pakistan are full of anti-India and anti-Modi rant. Ever since the news of surgical strikes carried out against the Pakistan based militants by the Indian armed forces has come out, the Indian government has become the new target of Pakistan. Indian army is also targeted regularly by the Pakistani media.
Indian government has also launched a FM station for the border belt near Amritsar. Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Vijay Sampla, inaugurated a 20kW FM transmitter of the All India Radio (AIR) located at Gharinda, which is close to the international border near Amritsar. The broadcasts from this station can be heard up to 50 kilometers inside Pakistani territory. The transmitter is of immense strategic importance. It will help in countering the venomous anti-India propaganda spread by the radio channels of Pakistan which likewise penetrate Indian territory.
It’s no hidden secret that China and Pakistan have been indulged in spreading anti-India propaganda since many years in the past. But in the recent times it has often been seen that their propaganda increasingly carries political colors as well. Chinese transmitters are running non-stop anti-Modi propaganda in the border areas. In their propaganda material, the Chinese claim their victory on the Doklam issue. The shocking thing is that Chinese are spreading their propaganda in regional languages. Chinese by using the local language of Arunachal Pradesh also try to create the doubt that Arunachal Pradesh is a part of China and the Chinese respect the language and culture of Arunachal Pradesh. Both China and Pakistan are working in tandem to malign PM Modi and to incite secessionist movements in India but so far they have suffered abject failure in their pursuit.
Recent steps taken by the Indian government will not only counter venomous anti-India propaganda but it will also make people aware of the real picture of India and how India stands on a much better position than Pakistan. It will also enlighten the people living near the border areas about steps taken by the central government for their betterment and would also bridge the communication gap to a large extent.
The previous governments in the country have ignored the importance of countering propaganda and clearing misinformation. It’s the incumbent government which has taken the initiative of countering anti-India propaganda. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has started two FM channels in Arunachal Pradesh, eight in Nepal, five in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, three in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan border areas. These channels will surely succeed in demolishing each and every anti-India propaganda which is sponsored by Pakistan and China.
