In what can be termed as the pleasant news for all the BJP supporters, the two disgruntled BJP leaders Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha have finally found political refuge. According to a Republic TV report, both the leaders of the BJP are in talks with Aam Aadmi Party. The report also claims that Yashwant Sinha can contest from New Delhi seat and actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha is expected to contest from West Delhi seat in the upcoming 2019 general elections. According to the report, Delhi CM and AAP Chief is in direct contact with Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha. Recently, both leaders shared stage with AAP at Jan Adhikar rally in Noida. At a time when AAP’s political prospects were not looking promising at all. However, the AAP hasn’t yet come out officially to confirm the reports, but if sources are to be believed the discussions are on with the top brass of AAP.
Both Shatrughan Sinha and Yashwant Shina’s current claim to fame is their attacks on Prime Minister Modi, BJP and party colleagues. Yashwant Sinha resigned from the party in April 2018. On the other hand Shatrughan Sinha is still in the BJP. While every good citizen must be vigilant and criticize their government whenever a policy goes wrong, one wonders why Sinha hasn’t left the BJP. Given the fact that he has been a constant critique of the party over the past few years.
The BJP gave him silent treatment by ignoring him. Towards the end of 2017, Shatrughan Sinha was seen at the book launch of suspended Rajya Sabha MP Ali Anwar Ansari of JD(U). In august in company of rebel JD(U) MP Sharad Yadav and senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, Sinha used the ‘chaiwala’ jibe against prime minister Modi while also attacking ‘TV actress’ Smriti Irani, who is currently the Textiles Minister. It is both ironic and sad that Shatrughan Sinha, an artist himself, chose to criticize Irani based on her profession.
If Sinha leaves BJP and join some other party then it will be a welcome news for all the BJP supporters. And also every BJP supporter must support Shatrughan Sinha in case he takes such a decision. It’s will be a win-win situation for him and the party.
Shatrughan should take some inspiration from Yashwant Sinha and Chandan Mitra. In March, Former Rajya Sabha MP and Editor of The Pioneer newspaper, Chandan Mitra had also resigned from the BJP. It is good that BJP is getting rid of opportunists. When a withered leaf falls a new green leaf is always there to take its place.
