News of planned assassination attempts on the lives of two Prime Ministers have surfaced in the past few days, one in the West and the other in India itself. There are differences between the names, organisations involved in planning and the reasons behind the plan but one thing which should have been constant is the rage against the alleged plan. The first plot was uncovered in north London in the United Kingdom where a radical extremist Muslim Naa’imur Zakariyah Rahman was plotting to kill the British Prime Minister Theresa May. The London Court presided by Justice Haddon Cave convicted and sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 30 years. The second plot was uncovered in India where communists were planning an attempt on the life of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Maharashtra Police arrested five alleged Urban Naxals, the Maharashtra Police has time and again spoken that the crackdown on the Urban Naxals was carried out only after the strong evidences were gathered against them.
The Maharashtra Police ADG (Law and Order) Parambir Singh defended the arrest by saying, “Investigation revealed that a big controversy was being plotted by Maoist organisations. The accused were helping them to take their goals forward. A terrorist organisation was also involved.” He also went on to add the reasons for which the arrest of the alleged people took place, “There was a larger conspiracy by Maoist organisations to overthrow the lawfully established Indian government using weapons procured from Russia and China. The arrested accused played an active and crucial role in this conspiracy.” This statement coming from a high ranking police personnel should have been enough for the critics, but the leftist cabal chose to defend their leaders by notorious means instead. The leftist cabal tried to mingle the sentiments of the people who are unaware of the severity of the actions taken by these urban Naxals to term it as a plot by the central government of quelling the opposition in the country.
Our mainstream media houses should learn something from the UK media which did not shy away from calling a terrorist by the name he deserves. No words of sympathy for the suspect came from the ranks of the opposition parties as well; the public too wholeheartedly supported the actions taken by the security personnel and the judiciary. Such is the way to deal with a terrorist who was influenced by the Islamic state propaganda and wanted to bomb Downing Street and then kill the British Prime Minister using guns.
The situation in India post the arrest of the Urban Naxals is saddening to say the least, the whole cabal of the left is up and is spreading misinformation to instigate the public against the central leadership. They forget that the arrest was filed based on an FIR in Mumbai and not by the CBI or anybody which comes directly under the central government, the FIR was filed by a person who had overheard plans and had secret facts related to the planned attempt on the Indian PM in his possession. The left doesn’t worry about facts, they never have and never will, instigating the public by putting up the urban Naxals on a pedestal and making them icons will work for now. Once the charges are proved and the judiciary passes a sentence, they won’t even shy from saying that the judiciary is in the pockets of the government. The most disappointing reaction though came from the Congress which has opposed the arrest of these people, who were picked up and sent to jail for involvement in Naxal related incidents during the Congress led UPA era too. This hypocrisy of the Congress is the reason why it has failed as a national party and is no more considered dependable.
