There is Israel, proudly celebrating its 70th anniversary as a thriving democracy in the Holy Land. In Poland, the great people are standing up for their independence, their security, and their sovereignty.” This is the first time that a US President has come out in the open applauding India and the PM Modi government for their massive development oriented efforts. It not only shows a positive trend for PM Modi but is also an acceptance of his governance coming at the international stage.
Trump’s address at the UN General Assembly went on for over 35 minutes in which he talked about the various developments which have taken place in US and other countries in the world. The other countries mentioned in his speech included the names of Saudi Arabia and Israel which were making progress in making their countries better suited for their residents. The UN General Assembly is one of the six main organs of the United Nations and it is the only wing in which every member country of the UN has equal representation. The annual debate of the UN General Assembly is a huge gathering of world leaders and representatives from the 193 member countries of the UN. The ongoing annual debate which is happening for the 73rd session started on 25th September and is slated to end in a week on the 1st of October with Ms. Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces of Ecuador presiding over it.
UN General Assembly is a very important meeting point of the world leaders where various important meetings and exchanges usually take place. The Foreign Ministers of India and Pakistan too were scheduled to meet on the sidelines of this session but India pulled back from this because of instances of aggression at the LoC in Kashmir from the Pakistani side. Trump endorsing India will at the international forum means that the US is finally going to side with India and has already started snubbing Pakistan. The predatory trade a tie between China and Pakistan had created worries for India but with US coming openly out in support of India and Russia and other countries which have been natural allies, the pressure on Pakistan and China will tremendously increase. It is a win for PM Modi and his diplomatic approach which has ensured that even the US has now started favouring India over Pakistan. The growth and development in India under PM Modi led BJP rule too is being appreciated and recognised at prestigious forums which will drastically enhance the image of the country.
