The communist Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan will be travelling to the capitalist United States for his medical treatment for a period of 19 days. He will leave India on 19th August and will come back on 6th September. The state government will look after all his expenditures. Details about his aliment are still unclear. In March this year, he had been admitted at the Apollo hospital in Chennai. Earlier in this month he had travelled to the USA with Health Minister KK Shylaja to receive an award. There are rumours in the town that CM Pinarayi Vijayan had undergone medical check-up during his visit.

Pinarayi Vijayan is not the only political leader who flies out to foreign countries when it comes to their own treatment. UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi also travels to foreign countries for treatment. It’s quite condemnable that the Congress party despite their 60-years of the rule could not even construct a single hospital where Sonia Gandhi could be treated. Even, the so-called maker of Modern India, Jawaharlal Nehru failed to architect even a single world-class hospital. Although, there so many hospitals named after the family members of Nehru-Gandhi, still Sonia Gandhi avoids visiting those hospitals for her medical treatment. The same case is with ‘larger-than-life’ Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The supreme leader of Delhi runs to Bengaluru for his treatment. Arvind Kejriwal had once said Mohalla clinics started by his government can cure 97% of diseases. He had said, “Among the people who come to the mohalla clinics, their 97 per cent diseases get cured”. It looks like his disease is so rare that it cannot be cured in Mohalla clinics.
As far as Pinarayi Vijayan is concerned, it’s quite ironical that the CM who had asked UP CM Yogi Adityanath to learn about healthcare from Kerala, himself travels to other states and foreign countries for his own treatment. It seems that he is unable to trust the healthcare system of his own state. For his own treatment, Kerala CM either travels to Chennai or US. Being a communist he could have travelled to communist countries like Cuba or North Korea, but, he is travelling to a capitalist country for his treatment. It shows his hypocrisy and it also indicates that he has accepted that capitalist countries like the US are far ahead scientifically and in terms of technology and health care than any other communist country. It would be interesting to see whether CM Pinarayi Vijayan would hail capitalism or not after his treatment in a capitalist country. His admission can be considered as a clear-cut victory of capitalism over communism. When it comes to their own health, the communists prefer a capitalist country like the US over a communist country like Cuba and socialist Venezuela.
However, communists 24×7 boast about the healthcare system of Kerala. According to their claims, Kerala has the ‘best health care’ system in India but they behave as if Kerala has the best healthcare system in the whole universe. Now, the myth is busted and it has become clear that the claim of best healthcare is just a communist propaganda to mislead the people.
On a serious note, why the politicians of all these political parties who claim that they have done so much for the health sector leave for the foreign countries for their treatment? Be it Sonia Gandhi or Kerala CM. Why don’t they trust the facilities where common folks go? Is it because those facilities are not reliable? Or they want superior health treatment which they have failed to provide to their people.
