7 year old girl raped in Mandsaur, media silent as perpetrator is from minority community

It was a matter of shame and disgust for all of us when we heard the news of little girl in Kathua who was brutally raped and later killed in Jammu and Kashmir. The entire country come to a standstill, and the people from all walks of life came out to condemn the gruesome act and express their outrage. Later on, due to irregularities in the process of investigation, the case was shifted to Chandigarh. The matter is currently under trial.

But the fact that all of us came out together to demand justice for the Kathua victim was very encouraging, barring a few who used the gruesome act to promote their film. Today, when another little girl in the small town of Mandsaur near Indore has been gruesomely raped, there is an unsettling silence from both the media and leading personalities regarding the horrific incident. The very same Facebook pages and Twitter handles that labeled the Kathua rape as Hindu majoritarian oppression of a minority girl, are not even mentioning the latest incident of sexual assault. None of the likes of Swara Bhaskar or Sonam Kapoor can be seen holding a placard.

Mohammad Imran, who raped the little girl, slit her throat and threw her in the bushes and left her to die. But the will power of the girl was stronger than a mountain and she survived the night. Later in the morning she was admitted to a hospital, and her health is stable as per Dainik Bhaskar. Imran has been arrested, but the family seeks capital punishment for him and rightly so. But will the family get justice if they’re not backed by fellow citizens as in the case of the Kathua incident? But looking at the dead silence in the main stream media, there are serious doubts that the family will get the justice they deserve, all thanks to the Muslim appeasement politics in India.

In the case of Kathua, the facts weren’t even out and people started claiming that she was raped inside some Devi-sthan, and all of a sudden people from the Hindu community felt ashamed of an act they didn’t commit solely for being Hindus. Later, it was found from the CCTV footage that Vishal Jagnotra was not in Kathua but in Meeret giving an exam on the day when the incident took place. Unlike Kathua, the Mandsaur case is crystal clear without any factual inconsistencies.

It is unfair to blame the common man as it is the left leaning media which has become incredibly experienced in shaping false narratives. The Left leaning media and the entirety of Bollywood is left exposed today. Just a few days back another woman faced sexual exploitation by the priests of a Church; she was blackmailed by the priest about her confession which she made in the church. She was then sexually exploited and it is the same story of people being mum over the incident.

Why isn’t any one holding a placard saying that the woman was raped in a Church?

Because for some, it doesn’t qualify the eligibility for peddling a ‘victim’ narrative, while for some there’s no movie in the pipe line. As there’s no scope for peddling propaganda and no scope for bashing the Hindu religion, the main stream journalists and their selective outrage are nowhere to be seen. The fact that in the Mandsaur case as well as in the latter. the perpetrators belong to the minority community, is the main reason for the silence, because ‘democracy will be under threat’ if one dares to seek justice for the victims.

We can only hope that the victims get the justice they deserve, and that the perpetrators get the harshest punishment possible within the ambit of the law. As for the selective outrage, we can only hope that people one day begin to see through the double standards and hypocrisy of the media
