Rahul Gandhi has again managed to produce extraordinary lies. His talent of producing lies and making up facts is admittedly quite outstanding. Rahul Gandhi tweeted that PM Modi had insulted Bengaluru, the city of gardens, by calling it the city of garbage. He also accused the PM of lying and claimed that only the Congress has the capabilities to build cities.

The first thing that needs to be addressed is, who transformed the capital of Karnataka to the ‘garbage city’? The fact of the matter is that under Congress rule, public utilities in Bengaluru have crumbled completely. Roads are filled with potholes, and the traffic problems in the city are known throughout the nation. As many as 189 people lost their lives because of pothole-related accidents over the last four years in the state of Karnataka.
Congress completely deteriorated the infrastructure of Bengaluru and rest of urban Karnataka. From poor and inadequate garbage collection to bad roads, from daily traffic jams which take hours to clear to dirty lakes that foam up and catch fire, the Congress leaders in the State are the ones that have insulted the city by treating it this way. If today ‘garden city’ is ‘garbage city’, it is all because of the lackluster approach adopted by the incumbent Congress government towards it.

What PM Modi is doing in terms of infrastructure all over the country is something that Rahul and his party cannot begin to imagine, whether it is the pace of building highways, railroads, or the latest landmark achievement of electrifying villages. The Modi government has launched a number of ambitious infrastructure projects like Sagarmala Project, Bharatmala Project, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, Shivaji Memorial, Setu Bharatam project, Rashtriya Rajmarg Zila Sanjoyokta Pariyojna, Inland Waterways and the Gujarat-Gorakhpur gas pipeline to boost the country’s infrastructure growth.
On a national level, the growth of highway construction is up by 25%. Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s goal is to push the daily construction of highways to 41 km a day. The government has been constructing 25 km a days so far. To upgrade the existing airport infrastructure, Modi government is going to invest a sum of 5 to 6 lakh Crores over a period of five years with Airport Authority of India (AAI) and private companies. In order to boost health infrastructure, the government is going to spend Rs. 14,832 crore under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) beyond 12th Five Year Plan to 2019-20.
The government led by PM Modi is not just paying attention to urban areas but to the rural areas as well. They are working towards making villages self-sufficient and have launched the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee National Rurban Mission which aims at developing smart villages on the line of smart cities in order to stop the trend of migration. Modi government is not following Nehru who went for big industries and dams without any rural development which resulted in migration of people from villages in search of employment and opportunities. Cities without decent and modern infrastructure started to crumble under the burden of overpopulation. Under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana, all of India’s 597,464 census villages have been electrified. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (rural), 561.75 lakh toilets have been constructed.
The BJP is doing well to fulfill the Gandhian dream of Gram Swaraj (village republics). Before pointing fingers at leaders who actually are taking massive strives towards development, Rahul Gandhi must do some introspection and re-evaluate the ideals the Congress has been banking on. Nehru’s socialist ideals have completely failed to transform India. Now, we have a leader who is dedicated to developing and transforming India, having put all selfish and personal needs aside for the common good of Indian citizens.
