In a huge success for the Gujarat ATS and the Modi government’s crusade against terrorism, a charge-sheet filed by the ATS in a court in Ankleshwar has stated how a plan to assassinate Prime Minister Modi has been discovered. Reportedly, an IS (Islamic State) operative, Ubaid Mirza, had been instructed to target PM Modi. The statement by a social media contact of the IS operative referring to himself as ‘Ferrari’ had sent a message to Ubaid Mirza, “Yeah, let’s take out Modi with a sniper rifle.” The evidence of the statement being made has been retrieved from the pen drive belonging to Ubaid Mirza and a message received by him on a messaging app.
Ubaid Mirza, an advocate by profession, had been arrested in connection to plot to assassinate PM Modi along with Mohammad Kasim Stimberwala, who is a lab technician at a hospital on October 25, 2017. It had been reported last month that the duo had also planned to carry out major attacks on a Jewish Synagogue in the Khadia area of Ahmedabad. They had also planned to carry out terror attacks across Mumbai on the lines of the 26/ 11 attacks as more Jews reside in Mumbai than in Ahmedabad. The anti-Semitic jihadists had planned to attack the Nariman Point area where a number of Jews had been killed in the 26/ 11 Mumbai terror attacks.
Now, it has come to light that the same duo was also planning another major terrorist assault and assassinate PM Modi who is naturally on the hit list of Islamist hardliners. However, it seems that the security agencies are constantly on guard and have thwarted a major terror attack. The fact that PM Modi was also on the hit list of the duo makes the successful arrest conducted by the Gujarat ATS all the more important. PM Modi had promised before the 2014 general elections to fight tooth and nail against terrorism. True to his words, he has broken the back of terrorism in all its forms over the past four years. While terrorists have been pushed to the wall in the remote and susceptible regions where terrorists had been traditionally active, no major terror attack has taken place in any major town. Even in their stronghold areas, security forces have clamped down on terror outfits making them run for their money. This is in great contrast to the frequent terror attacks that rocked the nation during the UPA days. However, since PM Modi has shaken the foundations of terror outfits which were active in India, they are naturally trying to target PM Modi. Notwithstanding PM Modi’s attitude of breaking the security cordon and interacting with the public, every attempt should be made to keep his security cover tight in order to avert and foil any mischievous plan.
The fact that assassination plans have been devised against PM Modi does not come as a huge surprise. He has enemies both outside and within India. PM Modi has been on the target of such enemies and hardliners ever since he emerged in a big way on the political scene. In fact, sore losers who have been defeated time and again by PM Modi have been openly wishing that he be assassinated.
Political opponents and their favorite journalists like Sunetra Choudhury, for instance, were openly wishing that PM Modi catches swine flu. Others like Sanjiv Bhatt have been openly trying to fuel hatred against PM Modi even after being rounded by the highest court in India. In fact, in 2014 itself, a Saharanpur Congress leader had threatened to, “cut Narendra Modi into pieces”.
Narendra Modi has swine flu- i don't know why but this news is really exciting me

Apart from this, there are Pakistan sympathizers who routinely side with the terrorist nation against PM Modi. Some of them have even begged Pakistan to stop PM Modi at any cost. It is particularly disturbing and frightening that political opponents are ready to ally with terrorists in order to fight against the Prime Minister. The Saharanpur Congress leader, Imran Masood, refused to apologise even after being exposed. This shows how political opponents on all sides are bitter losers ready to stoop to any low in order to overcome the Prime Minister, even if it means implicitly endorsing a plan to assassinate him.
