Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government at the centre have been able to retain the confidence of 57% of the Indian population, according to a survey conducted by LocalCircles. 28% of the people who took the survey said that the PM Modi led central government had exceeded their expectations while 29% others mentioned that the government had been able to match their expectations. This survey conducted after four years of Bharatiya Janata Party rule at the centre should be a huge boost to the morale of BJP and its workers. The survey conducted by LocalCircles was carried out over a three week period where over 40,000 people gave their opinions. 40,000 people hailing from over 250 districts in India shared their opinions on topics related to the central government’s functioning and the approval of the government. PM Modi and BJP’s progress and growth oriented development seem to have clicked with people from the length and breadth of India. The results of the survey reaffirm the confidence of the people which was demonstrated by the results of the state elections which the BJP has won since 2014. The mass acceptability of PM Modi is visible from all the rallies held in the states which have faced elections in the recent past.
From Uttar Pradesh in 2017 to the Karnataka elections that took place earlier this week, BJP has won on a grand scale in every election conducted. PM Modi and his charisma have enabled BJP to form government in the North-east states as well as in Karnataka. The turnout at his rallies shows the faith and love people have in their hearts for PM Modi who has changed the image of the country internally as well as externally. India’s progress in the past few years along with the measures taken to curb corruption and evasion of taxes has also been appreciated by the people.
The participants of the survey made it clear that the PM Modi led government has been able to keep their trust even after four years of rule, a commendable feat indeed. India’s changed image at the global level was also applauded by the participants of the survey by a whopping 82% of the survey takers. The way in which Pakistan has been treated (rebuked and humiliated) at the hands of the PM Modi government has also been satisfactory for 74% of the people who took the survey.
The approval survey also points out that people have become optimistic about the future of their family in India with 65% of the survey takers agreeing with PM Modi’s efforts in building a new India. Infrastructural development done under the four years rule of PM Modi led BJP has been above par for 65% of the people who took the approval survey.
These surveys indicate that even as PM Modi led BJP enters the fifth year of his term, the popularity of PM Modi has remained intact. The 15th Prime Minister of India has already been ranked the 9th most powerful person in the world according to Forbes. LocalCircles survey proves that PM Modi is still a force to be reckoned with in India. People believe that PM Modi has delivered on his promises and will continue to do so in the future as well. The approval rating of PM Modi has remained high in all the surveys conducted in the past 4 years, a good sign for BJP as it shows that along with development, they have also been able to form a connect with the common people. Surveys such as these will boost the morale of BJP workers who are gearing up to ensure the second term for PM Modi in 2019.
