Are you a secular Hindu? How about a brain transplant?

For a while, I have been wondering, who exactly is a Secular Hindu? And after much consideration, I have reached the conclusion that a Secular Hindu is one who has abandoned his heritage, his traditions, his ancestors for the sake of Western ideals that are alien to him and his civilization. For Jews, their holy land is Jerusalem, for the Mohammedan, it’s Mecca, for the Hindu, it is the land of his ancestors and his Devas, Bharata and in much the same manner, for the Secular Hindu, his holy land is the seat of Liberalism, the United States of America.

The Secular Hindu does not ever stop to consider whether the ideals of Western Civilization are truly worth adopting or if the policies of the West could ever be successfully implemented in a nation that has a vastly different set of social mores and ideals. For the Secular Hindu, the West represents everything that is good and holy and he can barely conceal his contempt for the rustic, traditional Hindu who holds his Devas in high regard and considers repaying the debt he owes to his ancestors the primary reason for his continued existence.

The Secular Hindu does not realize that Secularism is an Abrahamic concept borne out of the womb of Christianity and, thus, is alien to Sanatana Dharma. He does not realize that Secularism, the separation of the Divine from the temporal realm of existence, could not ever be successfully imposed on a population that does not even comprehend the basic meaning of it. He does not even critically examine if Secularism is even worth emulating or evaluate the costs that imposition of an alien concept on a native population that has no previous experience with it entails.

The Secular Hindu blindly grasps at Western ideals and seeks to adapt or modify them for their application on the Indian scene, often without undertaking any rigorous investigation in the viability of the values and ideals they seek to impose. He does not wish to devise policies and a constitutional framework that are most suitable to Indian conditions, instead, he demands that a civilization change its ancient way of life that has withstood the various vagaries of time to cope with foreign ideals that they wish to impose, and often do impose, without the express consent of its population.

The Secular Hindu develops an intense superiority complex by virtue of his affiliation to an ideology that is foreign to most of his co-nationalists and considers their hatred for his beliefs as a natural reaction of bumpkins that are incapable of grasping the virtues of his manner of perceiving life and its complexities. He suffers from rank elitism and lives under the delusion that his beliefs inherently make him a better person and more worthy of accolades and positions of power. He considers any difference of opinion with his cherished beliefs not merely a disagreement but a mortal sin.

The Secular Hindu is obsessed with foreign ideals such as Democracy and Feminism and Social Justice and does not even for a moment consider that the interpretation of such concepts through a western lens, which have developed in foreign lands under alien circumstances, in the context of Sanatana Dharma and Bharata might be grossly inappropriate and the conclusions derived from such an interpretation widely misplaced.

The Secular Hindu considers whatever ideology that is in vogue in the West as the standard that the great Hindu Civilization should aspire towards and is unable to comprehend the flaws of these ideologies or the cost that an imposition of such an ideology in India would entail and he is incapable of rejecting any of these ideologies until and unless the West has done it first.

Thus, the Secular Hindu might glorify Communism, Socialism, Libertarianism, Liberalism, Progressivism, Feminism, Social Justice but he will always loathe speaking in high regard of the manner of life of his ancestors and the great and ancient Sanatana Dharma that unites this great nation of ours with an unprecedented level of diversity with invisible threads and unique bonds.

Most importantly, the Secular Hindu believes the Indian nation came into existence in 1947 and prior to it, there were merely native kingdoms and fragmented parts with not a shred of unity among them or civilizational continuity.

He also solemnly swears by the false doctrine of the equivalence of all religions and resolutely believes that a change in the demography of India will have no impact on the country. He genuinely believes that the partition of India was a consequence of the seeds of enmity that was sown between Hindus and Mohammedans by the British and does not believe the fact that the Islamic invasion of India resulted in genocide of Hindus or that the invaders took a sick pleasure in the slaughter of Kaafirs. He believes that every other practitioner of other religions is inherently secular while every Hindu is inherently communal and constitutional measures that privilege the minority community over the majority are necessary to protect them from ravenous Hindus.

All in all, the Secular Hindu is one who staunchly believes that he has the moral higher ground and rides the high horse as he dishonors the sacrifices of his ancestors and insults all that his ancestors held dear for the cheap thrill of Virtue Signaling. And he needs a brain transplant!
