Demonetization Row: A disgruntled ex-supporter shows mirror to Kejriwal Ji

Kejriwal Ji Demonetization

This is a replug of the original article we published in month of November Last Year when PM Modi announced his historic demonetisation decision.

Dear Arvind Kejriwal ji,

I have still not forgotten that day in December 2013 when election results were declared in four states: Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi. While BJP swept the elections in MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, they landed just short of a majority in Delhi. Despite rooting for the BJP, I was not too disappointed. The Congress had been decimated and the incumbent CM Sheila Dixit was defeated on her home turf by you.

The Aam Aadmi Party had indeed made a phenomenal debut, but it was a hung assembly. I was looking forward to witnessing how things would turn out. After supposedly consulting the Delhi public, you decided to become the CM with outside support from the Congress. I was a tad disappointed. Why Congress? After all, Kejriwal ji you were supposed to be an anti-corruption crusader and Congress was and is the epicenter of corruption. But I decided to give you the benefit of the doubt and was happy to see the AAP form the government in Delhi and you become the CM. I was eagerly waiting for the political revolution that was supposed to start in India. How wrong I was! This was probably the last phase when I had a semblance of respect for you.

Let us look at what you and your party have done till date since you were first sworn in as CM of Delhi.

First stint as Delhi CM

In one of your first moves after becoming CM, Kejriwal ji you announced exemption for people who have defaulted on electricity bills and withdrawal of cases against those booked for power theft. This was followed by your ill-advised Janta Durbar that collapsed into complete chaos an hour after it was started.

Then, there was the midnight raid by your law minister Somnath Bharti, arresting Nigerians and Ugandians, who were alleged to be members of the prostitution-and-drug ring. You then tabled the Jan Lokpal bill in the Delhi Assembly and once the Congress party did not support you on this, you decided to resign stating ‘Jan Lokpal ke liye 100 CM ki kursi kurbaan’. By now, a lot of people started to see through your opportunistic intentions. The Delhi elections made you over-confident and you started nurturing national ambitions. Jan Lokpal was just an excuse to abandon Delhi and have a shot at the 2014 General Elections.

2014 General Elections Campaign

Prior to your resignation as Delhi CM, Kejriwal ji you said that you would not contest a single seat in the General Elections. After resigning, you decided to contest against the NDA prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the constituency of Varanasi and made a claim that AAP would win at least 100 seats and no government can be formed without AAP’s support. This was probably the start of your obsession with Modi. By now, the key concepts on which AAP was formed viz swaraj, honesty, transparency, ethics were all thrown to the bins.

Kejriwal ji, your constant rhetoric against Modi did not get the acceptance of the Indian public, who had by now decided to vote overwhelmingly in favor of Modi and the BJP. More than concentrating on AAP, you were hell-bent on proving that the Gujarat development model was a myth.

You went to Gujarat along with Manish Sisodia to ‘verify’ the Gujarat model and on predictable lines, you tried to give an impression that Gujarat was a backward state, full of poverty and communal tension. You tried to play the victim card when denied an appointment with Modi. As expected, you lost the Varanasi seat by a margin of around 3,70,000 votes, thereby putting a temporary halt on your national ambitions.

Unfortunately for you, Kejriwal ji you now had to start afresh again and suddenly remembered the people of Delhi, who you once abandoned.

Second stint as Delhi CM

After President rule was imposed in Delhi for a year, fresh elections were called in 2015 February. The AAP ran a spirited campaign while the BJP made some fatal mistakes. The AAP was also helped by the mainstream media that played out some church attacks performed by a group of miscreants to be orchestrated by the BJP and the RSS. On the back of all this, the AAP won an unbelievable 67 seats out of the 70 seats in the Delhi Assemby and you became a CM for the second time.

Your second stint Kejriwal ji, has been marked by constant spats with the LG Najeeb Jung, massive amount of money wasted in amateur advertisements (woh pareshan karte rahe, hum kaam karte rahein), proposal to increase MLA salaries by 4 times, instances of misbehavior with women by a lot of your MLAs, some impractical schemes like the odd-even scheme and instances of absolute inaction and negligence during the dengue epidemic.

Kejriwal ji, your open support to the Mahagatbandhan in Bihar that had Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD and subsequently embracing him on stage is a 360 degree turn from your roots of being an anti-corruption crusader. Likewise, during the National Herald case hearing, there was not a single tweet or statement from your side. When asked about it, Kejriwal ji your answer was you are concentrating on Delhi and would not like to concentrate on things outside Delhi. Hypocrisy!

Then came your tiff with the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. When the office of your principal secretary Rajendar Kumar was raided by the CBI, you cried foul and blamed Modi for it. In an earlier instance, you had yourself advocated that the CBI should have complete powers to perform an investigation. Kejriwal ji, You called the PM a coward and a psychopath and successfully diverted the attention from the core issue of graft on the part of your principal secretary by making wild allegations against Jaitley on the DDCA. When you look back at it, you will admit that you said nothing new apart from what was already made public by the Special Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO).

If you honestly do a self-appraisal on your stand during the suicide of Rohith Vemula and the JNU episode, you will realize how cheap and unethical you have become. Nobody killed Rohith Vemula. He was suspended from his university on disciplinary grounds and committed suicide. There was absolutely no reason for you to say that it was an institutional murder and not suicide.

This was done to deliberately target the then HRD minister Smriti Irani. Similarly, when there were slogans like ‘Bharat tere tukde tukde honge inshaallah’ being raised by students in JNU, you had absolutely no business to go there and express solidarity with those students.

Kejriwal ji,Your support for Kanhaiya Kumar and terming his speech as inspiring is a clear indication that you will side with anyone, just about anyone who is against Modi.

After the Uri terror attacks, when the Indian government was trying to diplomatically isolate Pakistan and has been reasonably successful in doing so, you praise a half-baked article which says that it is India that is getting isolated and not Pakistan.

When the US, Russia, Europeam Union, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are open in the support for India, what was the need to endorse that article? Guess you wanted to prove that India’s foreign policy under Modi has backfired. Would you Kejriwal Ji, go to any extent and endorse anyone who speaks against Modi?

Demonetization Row:

Kejriwal Ji, your recent stand on the demonetization step by the Modi government comes as a last straw. Demonetization is a bold and decisive move by the central government to rid the country of black money. While there was no doubt that other opposition parties would oppose the demonetization move by the government, I never expected you, supposedly a champion of the anti-corruption cause, to oppose demonetization and react the way you have done.

Kejriwal Ji, You have tried every dirty trick in the book to defame demonetization move by the government.

You have made wild allegations that the ‘friends’ of the BJP were forewarned about the demonetization scheme. Can you furnish any authentic proof for this? You are trying your best to create a panic situation among the citizens, just to make sure that PM Modi fails in this battle against corruption. You cannot stoop lower than this Kejriwal ji.

I have just highlighted some of your misdeeds and can go on and on. The moot point here is, you have disappointed a lot of people like me, who once thought you are different from the regular Indian politician and would start a political revolution. The truth is, in a short span of time, you have learnt all the dirty tricks in politics and have grown to be a sick and twisted politician. Not to mention your soap-opera dialogues: tumko pata nahi Arvind Kejriwal kis mitti ka bana hain.

I would like to conclude with a simple question to myself about you. Would I be shocked if tomorrow, news breaks out that Kejriwal ji, you have been masterminding some communal violence or terror attack in some part of India to defame Modi? No. I would not be shocked. You are a psychopath, perfectly capable of carrying out something of that sort. Like Arjuna focusing only on the wooden parrot’s eye, your single point of focus is to somehow bring down Modi.

Yours truly

An ex-supporter of yours, now truly frustrated with you and your dirty brand of politics
