Virender Sehwag loves to hit the balls out of the park, be it on the field or off the field. After the Ramjas college incident, the pseudo-liberals are doing everything in their capacity to stop the issue from dying down. They have fallen to such unfathomable depths that they are now using a 20 year old daughter of a martyr, Gurmehar Kaur to spread their malicious agenda. These are the same liberals who demanded proof when our army conducted surgical strikes in a daring cross border operation along the LoC.
Gurmehar Kaur, who has blamed the violence that took place in Ramjas college wholly on ABVP is relentlessly campaigning on social media for the cause of the liberals. In response to Gurmehar’s tweet Virender Sehwag without any reference to anyone, tweeted the picture below.
That was all for the pseudo liberals to come out swinging at Sehwag and Randeep Hooda who merely supported Virender Sehwag. The usual suspects like Rana Ayyub, Shekhar Gupta, Nidhi Razdan came all guns blazing and of course our beloved Barkha Dutt wasn’t to be left behind. Both Haryanvi boys slammed their critics one by one. It was disturbing to see that Rana Ayyub accused Randeep Hooda of emancipation of women as he is a “Haryanvi”. Such blatant stereotyping of all Haryanvi men is unbecoming of a journalist. Gurmehar Kaur to her credit stuck to her guns and did not back down from her views.
Freedom of expression allows Gurmehar Kaur to air her views and no one should stop her from doing so. But that doesn’t mean whatever she says is the gospel truth. Yes, she is the daughter of a martyr, and her father will always have our respect but to take her views as the holy truth don’t make any sense. By the same logic, Umair Khalid whose father is former chief of the now banned SIMI, a terrorist organisation should be treated in the same way.
It is true that Gurmehar after her tweets got rape threats from those who call them “nationalists”. These people who targeted Gurmehar Kaur with rape threats are not nationalists nor liberals they are just a bunch of people with criminal minds and must be put behind bars at the earliest.
If Gurmehar Kaur can express her views no matter how naive they are, then Virender Sehwag and Randeep Hooda also have every right to contradict her without being labelled as men who support rape.
These men unlike Rana Ayyub and team have put India’s name at the highest level in their respective fields and brought joys to millions of Indians. Be it Sehwag’s relentless hammering of Pakistan whenever he faced them or Randeep Hooda’s award winning performances in Highway and Sarabjit. These so-called “rape supporting” men like you and me are Indians at heart and are offended when someone wishes that India is destroyed and Kashmir is “freed” from India. Instead of taking to violence , they started a debate on twitter without offending anyone and look what the psuedo-liberals named them.
The Ramjas violence and the aftermath is nothing but a staged conspiracy evoking predictable reactions from the ABVP that incidentally clashes with the one year anniversary of the JNU incident to bring down the ABVP who since has been sweeping all the student bodies in Delhi University completely decimating the left leaning student bodies like AISA and SFI. While any form of violence by any student body is deplorable and must be discouraged by the Government but it is also paramount that student bodies refrain from provocative statements and actions that evoke such reactions. The truth is no one can define Nationalism not Gurmehar nor the student bodies but if someone wants to break India , every Indian has the right to call him/her anti-national.
