New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha met the prime minister, Narendra Modi, on Saturday, in what he described as a memorable and detailed interaction. The meeting marks Chadha’s first publicly shared meeting with Modi since he switched from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) earlier this year.
Sharing photographs from the meeting on X, Chadha said he was grateful for the prime minister’s time and for the opportunity to benefit from his “insights and guidance”.
“A morning I will cherish. Had the privilege of meeting Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. A detailed and enriching interaction. Deeply grateful for his generous time and for the opportunity to benefit from his insights and guidance,” Chadha wrote.
Chadha, who was recently appointed chairman of the Committee on Petitions following its reconstitution, led the exit of seven Rajya Sabha MPs from the AAP to the BJP in April. He has previously faced questions over his relative silence on issues such as the NEET protests, saying his role had changed after moving to the treasury benches and that his focus was now on finding solutions.
The meeting comes days after Modi hosted more than 40 MPs from NDA constituents for breakfast at his official residence on Friday, including legislators who had recently shifted allegiance to parties aligned with the ruling coalition. MPs said the discussion touched on the disruption-hit Parliament Monsoon session, along with issues including Maharashtra’s development and rainfall in the north-east.
