CSDS the very institution whose data Rahul Gandhi leaned on to defame the voters of Maharashtra has now admitted that its figures were wrong — not just on Maharashtra, but even on SIR. Where does this leave Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, which brazenly targeted the Election Commission and went so far as to brand genuine voters as fake? Shameful. Rahul Gandhi must immediately abandon his so-called “Vote-Adhikar Yatra” in Bihar and tender an unconditional apology to the people of India for his callous and regressive politics.
While the Congress party screams “vote chori” at every rally and its leaders spread lies through manipulated numbers, the fact remains: the data was fake, the propaganda has been exposed, and the damage to voters’ trust has already been done. What will apologizing now achieve? Posters with “40% votes lost here, 38% votes shifted there” are already in circulation. Videos have already been made. The Congress has milked this propaganda. And Sanjay Kumar of CSDS—whose cooked-up figures were used—cannot wash his hands off after one half-hearted apology.
CSDS and the Dangerous Game of Narrative-Building : Amit Malviya
BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya took to ‘X’ posting a tweet exposing the CSDS. In his tweet he lashed out at the propaganda arm of Congress saying “The Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) is not just a research institution—it has long operated as a tool for narrative warfare. A closer look at its funding sources, survey designs, and outputs reveals a deeply troubling pattern that raises red flags about its intentions.
Foreign Funding with a Hidden Agenda: CSDS has received repeated infusions of funds from organisations like the Ford Foundation, International Development Research Centre (Canada), Gates Foundation, DFID (UK), NORAD (Norway), Hewlett Foundation, and others. These donors are not neutral. Their track record in India shows a deliberate strategy: pump money into institutions that can fracture society from within, particularly along caste and community lines.
Caste as the Primary Lens—For Hindus Alone: CSDS’s Lokniti surveys obsessively divide Hindu society into OBCs, Dalits, upper castes, and more, splashing caste-driven data across newspapers every election cycle. The result? A narrative that pits Hindu communities against each other.
Silence on Muslim Fault Lines: While Hindus are dissected caste by caste, Muslims are presented as one unified block. Realities like Dalit Muslims, Ashrafs, Ajlafs, and Arzals are buried. Why this silence? Because the aim is clear—protect one group’s image while keeping Hindus divided.”
The Pseudo-Science Behind CSDS Surveys
The so-called “scientific” data of CSDS has no real scientific basis. Respondents in India are rarely asked caste with precision. Much of this “caste coding” is guesswork at best, yet the data is flaunted as hard social science. Newspapers of record then plaster it across headlines, giving legitimacy to what is essentially propaganda.
When CSDS predictions fail spectacularly—as they often do—it is brushed off as an “error.” But this isn’t error. This is an agenda gone wrong. The real goal remains intact: inject divisions into India’s democratic bloodstream and weaken the social fabric.
Foreign Interests and Domestic Enablers
Let us be blunt. Ford Foundation and its allies in Western think tanks are not charity organisations. Their interest in India is not about strengthening democracy—it is about weakening India from within. Funding CSDS ensures that Hindu caste fault lines remain alive in public discourse.
Earlier it was Yogendra Yadav who misled the nation with “scientific” but hollow forecasts that suited Congress politics. Today it is Sanjay Kumar who continues that legacy—feeding selective, fake precision numbers that Congress leaders like Pawan Khera immediately weaponize. The intent is clear: bolster Congress narratives, delegitimize the Election Commission, and confuse Indian voters.
Not Just a Think Tank—An Agenda Factory
CSDS is not just another academic institute. With its deep foreign funding, selective caste lens, and fake projections, it has become an agenda factory. It thrives on amplifying Hindu divisions, shielding Muslim blocks from scrutiny, and producing “research” that Congress leaders use as gospel truth.
When Rahul Gandhi and his party weaponize such manipulated data to scream “vote chori,” it is not just a political gimmick. It is an attack on the dignity of India’s voters and on the Constitution itself. The Election Commission has already clarified that such language is an insult to India’s democracy. Yet Congress continues its dangerous campaign, unable to win the people’s trust through genuine politics.
Time to Hold Congress and CSDS Accountable
Rahul Gandhi’s Congress has shown once again that when faced with electoral rejection, it falls back on lies, fake data, and divisive politics. The “Vote Adhikar Yatra” in Bihar has already turned into a flop show, with no public enthusiasm. Now, his party’s propaganda arm—through CSDS and its foreign-funded agenda—has been caught red-handed spreading misinformation.
The Election Commission must take serious note of this pattern and ban caste and religion-based surveys unless full raw data is made public. India cannot allow foreign-funded institutions to inject poison into its democratic bloodstream.
Rahul Gandhi and his enablers must realise: no amount of fake data or foreign-funded propaganda will save a party that has already lost the confidence of India’s people.
