In a bold and direct address to the armed forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reiterated India’s uncompromising stance on Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, delivering a strong message from the Adampur Air Base in Punjab — a key frontline installation of the Indian Air Force.
“Hum Ghar Mein Ghus Kar Maarenge” — Modi Sends Clear Signal to Pakistan
Standing before Indian Air Force personnel, PM Modi echoed one of his most resounding messages yet: “Hum ghar mein ghus kar maarenge.”
(“We will enter their home and strike.”)
This statement came as a powerful reaffirmation of India’s offensive doctrine against cross-border terrorism, particularly following Operation Sindoor, India’s high-intensity, multi-service military operation targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
PM Modi praised the role of the Air Force, saying, “We have wiped them out. The Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy have defeated the Pakistani military. There’s no safe haven left for terrorists in Pakistan. This is our message to the world.”
‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ Echoes from the Sky
He went on to describe the might of India’s modern military response:
“When our drones breach the enemy’s walls, when missiles scream toward their targets, the enemy hears ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.’ When we bring daylight in the dead of night, they see only India’s resolve. And when we crush nuclear blackmail, only one voice echoes — ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.”
The Prime Minister commended the bravery and precision of India’s armed forces, stating they had made “every Indian and every mother proud.”
Operation Sindoor: A New Normal
Modi’s address followed his national speech on Monday where he declared Operation Sindoor to be a paradigm shift in India’s anti-terrorism strategy, calling it the “new normal” in dealing with threats.
He had warned: “India will no longer tolerate nuclear blackmail. Terror and trade, terror and talks — these cannot go hand in hand.”
Message to Pakistan: Operations Are Paused, Not Ended
Modi made it explicitly clear that India has only paused further operations, and that Pakistan’s future actions will determine what happens next.
“We have kept our operations in abeyance. The future depends on how Pakistan behaves.”
Adampur Air Base Visit Counters Pakistani Propaganda
PM Modi’s visit to the Adampur base also comes after Pakistani claims of destroying India’s S-400 air defence system housed there — a claim dismissed by the Indian military. His presence at the strategically critical base served as a symbolic counter to that narrative.
On Monday, Air Marshal AK Bharti, Director General of Air Operations, confirmed that all airbases and systems are fully operational and on high alert, ready to take on any future missions.
“Our fight is with terrorists and their infrastructure. It’s unfortunate that the Pakistani army chooses to shield them,” Bharti said.
