“When I went out of the car, the man, who waylaid us with his bike, used his key to attack me on my head. He was constantly hurling abuses in Kannada,” Bose said in the video, visibly bleeding. He further alleged that more people joined the attacker, surrounding the couple and continuing the abuse. One man allegedly struck him with a stone while another bit his finger. “My wife saved me,” Bose added, stating that Madhumita drove him to the nearest police station. Despite filing a formal complaint, he claimed the police did not take swift or adequate action. In his video, Bose expressed fear for his family’s safety and deep frustration at the apparent lack of law enforcement response.
In a follow-up video, bandaged and visibly shaken, the officer revealed he was headed to Kolkata to admit his father to the hospital when the attack happened. He ended the video with a stark statement: “God give me the strength not to retaliate. But if law and order fail, I will be forced to act.” The Bengaluru police have confirmed an investigation is underway. The Indian Air Force has extended its support to the officer and stated that it is cooperating fully with civil authorities to ensure a lawful resolution. The incident comes amid heightened tensions in Karnataka over language-related issues, adding further scrutiny to the state’s law and order situation.
