YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as “BeerBiceps,” has landed in legal trouble after making offensive remarks on comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with political leaders, social media users, and legal authorities demanding strict action.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis weighed in on the controversy, emphasizing that while freedom of speech exists, it should not infringe on others’ rights. “Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others… In our society, we have made some rules, if someone violates them, it is absolutely wrong and action should be taken,” Fadnavis told reporters. He also confirmed that Mumbai Police has begun an investigation at Khar Studio, where the episode was filmed.
What Happened
During the show, Ranveer Allahbadia posed an inappropriate and offensive question to a contestant: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?” He also allegedly made other crass comments, offering Rs 2 crore for an obscene act. The remarks, which quickly went viral on social media, were condemned as vulgar and disrespectful.
A formal complaint has been lodged against Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina, accusing them of “promoting obscenity”. The Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women and Child Commission have been urged to take strict action.
Former National Commission for Women (NCW) chief and Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma also criticized the remarks, stating, “Such jokes should never be accepted by society. They reflect the moral downfall of today’s youth.” Sharma has forwarded the video to the NCW Chairperson for further action.
After this, Ranveer Allahbadia, came up to publicly apologize for his inappropriate remarks on the show India’s Got Latent, acknowledging that his comments were offensive and unacceptable. Following massive backlash and legal complaints, the 31-year-old took to social media to express regret, admitting that “comedy is not my forte” and that his words were not cool.

Ranveer Allahbadia posted a video message on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry.” In the video, he admitted that his comment was not only inappropriate but also not humorous. “Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry,” he stated.
The influencer revealed that he had been receiving numerous questions about how he intended to use his platform, making it clear that he had no intention of spreading such content. “Obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn’t cool on my part,” he confessed.
Ranveer Allahbadia stated that he takes his audience seriously, acknowledging that his podcast is watched by people of all ages. “I don’t want to be the kind of person who takes that responsibility lightly, and family is the last thing I would ever disrespect,” he added.
“I promise to just get better. I have asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections from the video, and all I can say in the end is I am sorry. I hope you can forgive me as a human being,” he further added.
The outrage over Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks on India’s Got Latent has divided the internet into two contrasting sections. One side strongly condemns his inappropriate comments, rejecting his apology and demanding strict legal action against him and the show’s organizers. They argue that such crass remarks cross the boundaries of decency and should not be excused under any circumstances.
Ranveer Allahabadia has crossed the threshold. He demeaned his parents who gave him birth. He does not apologize because he is feeling sorry for his atrocious incestuous take, he is doing to save his business. Damage is done. On the other hand, many have come to Allahbadia’s defense, citing his right to freedom of speech and criticizing the legal charges filed against him. This argument over free speech, however, is often selectively applied. Many who defend Allahbadia’s right to express himself are the same individuals who argue in favor of protecting those who make offensive remarks against Hinduism and the Hindu community. This brings forth a bigger question, Where should the red line be drawn? Freedom of speech is a fundamental right, but it should not be misused as a shield for inappropriate, offensive, or harmful statements.
