PM Modi visited the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj on the 5th of Febraury, where he took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his visit highlighted the government’s commitment to preserving and enhancing India’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
During his visit, PM Modi showcased his signature sartorial flair, transitioning seamlessly between different outfits for various rituals. He began with a boat ride from Arail Ghat to the Sangam, wearing a traditional cream kurta-pyjama paired with a beige Nehru jacket.
For the holy dip, he made a notable departure from tradition, opting for a brick-red jacket and deep blue Adidas track pants with saffron stripes. He accessorized the look with a bright blue scarf and a rudraksha mala, blending functionality with religious observance. Later, as he performed tarpan and aarti, he donned a black puffer jacket and a colorful Pahari topi, adding a vibrant cultural touch with a saffron stole featuring intricate prints.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) reiterated his dedication to improving infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites. Maha Kumbh 2025, which commenced on January 13, is the world’s largest religious gathering and will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26. Several prominent figures, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and international personalities like Laurene Powell Jobs, Chris Martin, and Dakota Johnson, have attended the grand festival.
