The historic event of Mahakumbh continues with full grandeur in Tirthraj Prayag. Scores of devotees continue to visit Prayag to take a holy dip of faith in the Triveni Sangam, and till now more than 56 crore devotees have become a part in this Hindu’s largest congregation. There is an atmosphere of reverence and devotion everywhere, and people are appreciating the preparations of the Uttar Pradesh government led by CM Yogi. However, the opposition is not desisting from continuously attacking the Hindu faith by making controversial comments on Mahakumbh 2025.
Samajwadi Party President and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav gave an objectionable statement regarding Mahakumbh and said that “Only those who are sinners bathe in the Ganga.” At the same time, Samajwadi Party MLA Jaya Bachchan made an objectionable claim of calling Ganga water itself “contaminated”. CM Yogi also categorically rubbished reports of faecal contamination at Sangam stating that the water is fit for drinking.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee even called Mahakumbh as ‘Mrityu Kumbh’, which is a direct attack on the faith of crores of Sanatanis.
Slamming the I.N.D.I. Alliance leaders for their contentious remarks on Mahakumbh, UP CM Yogi Adityanath gave a befitting reply to the opposition on these absurd and insulting comments. He noted that Mahakumbh is not an ordinary event, but an identity of Hindu culture, tradition and faith and any attempt to defame it will not be tolerated. He also drew attention on the negative and smear campaign against the Mahakumbh ever since it started, and gave out a comparative study between Samajwadi party government’s lackdaisical support to the Hindu religious congregation in 2013 with his own administration’s slew of measures deployed to make Mahakumbh 2025 a grand success.
Taking a dig at Akhilesh Yadav’s visit to the Mahakumbh, he said that initially the SP Supremo tried to cast aspersions on the large number of devotees attending Triveni Sangam, but when he himself visited Prayagraj, he saw the large crowds firsthand. He then started making demands to extend the Mahakumbh dates adding that it is based on constellations and tithis rather than the government’s wishes. In a direct attack on Shivpal Yadav for extending the same demand, he often dubbed him as “Chachu”, (Akhilesh’s uncle), asking him to learn about the intricacies of Hindu Dharma from his party colleaugue and Leader of the opposition in the UP Assembly.
In a no holds barred attack on the Samajwadi party, CM Yogi said that the kind of langauge used by the SP’s IT cell shouldn’t find place in civilised society and he also taunted saying that it can be the ‘culture’ of the Samajwadis.
Taking a dig at the I.N.D.I. alliance leaders, CM Yogi said that these are the same people who make every effort to insult the Sanatan traditions, but the people of the country have now recognised their conspiracies and will give them a befitting reply.
Notably, on the second day of the budget session in the UP assembly, CM Yogi made a sharp attack on the rumors and propaganda of the opposition regarding Mahakumbh. He read out the statements of the opposition leaders in the House and clearly said that these are the same people who leave no opportunity to defame the Sanatan traditions.
CM Yogi bluntly said, “Our government is fully committed to making Mahakumbh historic and grand, but the opposition is having problems with it. Their language and thinking are not in accordance with civilized society.”
Targeting the Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties, the UP Chief Minister said that these people are spreading baseless things to hurt the dignity of a divine event like Mahakumbh.
“As soon as the Maha Kumbh started, they started spreading rumours.” The public is understanding this negative politics of the opposition very well and will also respond to it when the time comes.
Lambasting Akhilesh Yadav, CM Yogi said, “They say what is the need of so much money and so much grandeur?” This statement not only underestimates the importance of the event but is also a direct attack on Sanatan faith.
CM Yogi Adityanath hit back strongly at the opposition’s criticism over the Mahakumbh, especially Mamata Banerjee, who tried to insult Sanatan
Dharma by calling the holy event ‘Mrityu Kumbh’. Coming down heavily on Congress, SP and TMC, CM Yogi said that this is not just Mahakumbh, but a direct attack on the entire Sanatan Dharma and Indian culture.
CM Yogi firmly asserted, “Sanatan Dharma is the soul of this nation, and it is the duty of every Indian to respect it. Our government is fully committed to making this tradition more grand.” He further said that “Protection of Sanatan Dharma is the guarantee of protection of humanity.”
People of every caste, creed and sect have reached Prayagraj Mahakumbh with devotion. CM Yogi launched a scathing attack on the opposition and asked, “When even cricketer Mohammed Shami took bath in the Sangam with faith, then why are the opposition leaders opposing it? Mahakumbh is not a confluence of any one caste or religion, but the faith of the entire humanity.”
He also gave a befitting reply to the controversial statements of other opposition leaders. He described Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s false claim that thousands of people were killed in the stampede as a reflection of anti-Sanatan mentality. At the same time, he reacted sharply when TMC chief Mamata Banerjee called Mahakumbh as ‘Mrityu Kumbh’ and called it an insult to Sanatan Dharma. He also put the opposition in the dock after Jaya Bachchan made misleading claims like “bodies were thrown into the Ganga” and RJD chief Lalu Yadav called the Mahakumbh “extravagant”.
CM Yogi clearly said that “The way the leaders of Samajwadi Party, Congress, RJD and TMC are raising questions on a historical and sacred event like Mahakumbh, it reflects their anti-Sanatan thinking.” Accusing the opposition of defaming Indian culture and traditions, he said, “Our government is committed to making this event historic. No matter how much propaganda the opposition does, the public has understood their intentions very well.”
