Neeraj Chopra, India’s Olympic gold medal-winning javelin star, tied the marital knot with his fiancé, Himani Mor, a former tennis player turned sports management professional, in a low-key event held on January 19. The two-time Olympic medalist took to social media to share the pictures from the function, stating with visible glee, “Started a new chapter of life with my family.” Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Following his social media post, the newly wedded couple and their marriage became a trending topic worldwide, leading to an increased interest in Himani Mor. Born in Sonipat, Haryana, Himani is successful both as an athlete and a sports administrator. At present, Himani is serving as a graduate assistant at Amherst College; her primary assignment was managing the women’s tennis team. Her job also enabled her to attain her Master of Science at McCormack Isenberg School of Management.
Himani has a strong academic background. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Physical Education from Miranda House in 2018. She also completed an MBA in Sports and Fitness Administration/Management from Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. In 2022, she served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for tennis at Franklin Pierce University.
Earlier, Himani was a keen tennis player and had also represented Delhi University in the World University Games. More than 14 years of sports experience have enriched her, with the last two years specifically concentrated on sports management and administration. As per her LinkedIn profile, she is passionate about using sports as a tool for inclusion and empowerment and believes that sports cut across physical, racial, and cultural boundaries.
Himani Mor oversees and coordinates various areas of Amherst College’s women’s tennis program as a graduate assistant: training, scheduling, recruiting, and budgeting. She plans to move on in sport management and be of value to the success and further development of the sports industry while utilising her expertise in leadership, communication, and team motivation.
