The Islamo Leftist ecosystem often mock and turn a blind eye upon the concerning subject of Love Jihad. There have been numerous attempts by the lobby to brush the concerning subject under the carpet. They label Love Jihad as nothing but a Hindutva Conspiracy theory to demonise the muslim community. Even the left’s handy propaganda site, Wikipedia, too moves along the same line. But does Love Jihad only mark its presence in India and is it nothing but a conspiracy confined within the minds of “Hindu Nationalists”? Love Jihad is not a phenomena which can only be witnessed in India but its overwhelming presence lies in Western countries too. The West refers to the same Love Jihad by different terms like Grooming Jihad, Grooming gangs or Rape Jihad.
At the latest, the debate on the Grooming Gangs has got a major push with popular figures jumping into the discourse of the subject. A heated debate can be witnessed running on the social media platform X which is built upon the premise of the Rotherham grooming scandal that uncovered between 1997 and 2013 and shook the whole of the United Kingdom. The Rotherham grooming scandal included Muslim men who lured non-muslim in romantic relationships and then sexually exploited them and forced them to give up on their religion and convert to Islam. The grooming scandal came back in public light after the Crown Prosecution Service announced on September 13, 2024, that seven men were sentenced for child sex abuse offenses committed against two young girls during the 2000s. The men, all of Pakistani origin, were convicted following an investigation under Operation Stovewood, a major probe into child sexual abuse in Rotherham.
The scandal reignited the discourse on grooming jihad. Many big names that included Tesla CEO Elon Musk, author J.K. Rowling, and former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss came up to underline the concerning issue.
Elon Musk Musk lashed out at the current Prime Minister of United Kingdom Keir Starmer, who served as the head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) from 2008 to 2013, a period when grooming gangs operated with impunity. He wrote “In the UK, serious crimes such as rape require the Crown Prosecution Service’s approval for the police to charge suspects.
Who was the head of the CPS when rape gangs were allowed to exploit young girls without facing justice? Keir Starmer, 2008 -2013” Musk also called for the release of Tommy Robinson, a journalist who highlighted grooming gang cases in his documentaries.
Author J.K. Rowling, known for writing the evergreen Harry Potter series expressed her concerns regarding the grooming jihad. Citing journalist Sam Ashworth-Hayes’ report in The Telegraph, she wrote, The details emerging about what the rape gangs (why call them ‘grooming’ gangs? It’s like calling those who stab people to death ‘knife owners’) did to girls in Rotherham are downright horrific. The allegations of possible police corruption in the case are almost beyond belief.”
Former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss echoed similar sentiments, condemning the crimes as a national disgrace. “These appalling rape gang cases of girls as young as 11 shame our country,” Truss wrote. She called for accountability not just for the perpetrators but also for the authorities who failed to act, suggesting reforms to restore the judiciary’s accountability to elected officials.
Other MPs, including Rupert Lowe and Robert Jenrick too raised their voices for the same. One Journalist with username @Barakabihimo noted down the significance of highlighting the religion and nationality of the perpetrators. He mentioned that it were Pakistani Muslims who were involved in the horrifying act and not Asian Men. He posted “They are Pakistani Muslims Men who exploited and abused those girls. I don’t want to hear “Asian men” it was not Japanese, Fillipino or Chinese men. They are Pakastani and Muslim. It’s important to know exactly who the snake is in the grass.”
Calling the perpetrators as Asian men undermines the thickness of the matter as it is also Asian women including Sikhs and Hindus who were targets of the grooming gangs.
Grooming Gangs
Grooming gangs in the UK, predominantly composed of Muslim men of Pakistani origin, have targeted young non-Muslim girls for decades. These gangs exploit the vulnerabilities of their victims, subjecting them to repeated abuse and rape. Many in the UK have termed this phenomenon “Rape Jihad,” a term symbolizing the systematic targeting of non-Muslim women. Despite mounting evidence, authorities have often hesitated to act decisively, fearing allegations of racism.
Peter McLoughlin’s book Easy Meat highlights that Sikh groups were among the first to raise alarms about these grooming gangs. Yet, their warnings went unheeded for decades. Labour MP Sarah Champion faced backlash and was removed from Jeremy Corbyn’s shadow cabinet after addressing the ethnicity of the perpetrators and the systematic cover-ups surrounding these crimes. Hindu and Sikh organizations praised Champion for her courage, asserting that the term “Asian” used by the authorities unfairly implicates non-Muslim communities that have also suffered at the hands of these gangs.
A study by the Sikh Mediation and Rehabilitation Team charity, reported by the Daily Mail, documents over 50 years of Pakistani grooming gangs targeting Sikh girls. The study condemns the police for ignoring complaints due to political correctness, allowing the crimes to persist unchecked. Community leaders in the West Midlands shared harrowing accounts of police indifference and inaction despite repeated reports of abuse.
The issue was further underscored in a report commissioned by Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham. The inquiry revealed that a network of about 100 perpetrators abused 57 young girls in the 2000s. Many victims were in care, groomed, and abused openly. The investigation found that fears of inciting racial tensions led the Greater Manchester Police and city council to shelve critical investigations.
