No Hindu can ever forget the auspicious day of 22nd January, 2024 when the 51 inch Murti of Shri Ram Lalla was consecrated in the Garbhagriha (santum sanctoram) of the Ram Janma Bhoomi in Ayodhya marking the ending to the 500 year wait of the Hindu civilisation to restore its pride. Now in approximately a couple of fortnight, the auspicious ceremony will mark its first anniversary.
Amid anticipation and enthusiam, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust overseeing the management of the Ram Mandir, has clarified that the first anniversary of the consecration, or ‘Pran Pratishtha,’ will be marked on 11th January 2025, instead of 22nd Janaury 2025.
Addressing curiosity and doubts, if any, the temple trust addressed it by explaining that Hindu festivals and observances follow the Hindu calendar. According to this calendar, the consecration ceremony occurred on Paush Shukla Paksha Dwadashi, also known as Kurma Dwadashi, the 12th day of the waxing moon in the Paush month. In 2025, this auspicious date will fall on January 11, prompting the trust to schedule the celebration accordingly.
In an official post on X, the trust stated, “After consultation with saints, it was resolved that, in keeping with the tradition of observing Hindu festivals and celebrations according to the Hindu calendar (Panchang), the anniversary of the Prana Pratishtha of Prabhu Shri Ramlalla Sarkar will be celebrated annually on Paush Shukla Dwadashi, also known as Kurma Dwadashi, as per the Panchang. This date will be referred to as Pratishtha Dwadashi. In 2025, it will fall on 11 January,”
A slew of decisions were also announced. Delhi’s Apollo Hospital will establish a modern healthcare facility covering 3,000 square meters near the Passenger Service Center at the temple site. This facility aims to provide advanced medical services to pilgrims and visitors. Moreover, the date of the completion of the Ram Mandir has been pushed from June, 2025 to September,2025 due to the lack of approximately 200 workers.
