Do you want to play GTA Vice City, Road Rash but are scared of facing accountability for deliberately killing innocent bystanders. Don’t worry. The Western media has got you covered, as they have shown that they too can pull a Ravish Kumar. Hazar lanate bhej raha hu us car ko…Just like Ravish Kumar cursed the bullet that neutralised Danish Siddiqui, the Western media have delivered a spin so bizarre, even your game glitches will blush. It’s like watching Ravish Kumar cursing bullets except this time, it’s the Western media literally taking the wheel to justify the unjustifiable with their yellow journalism, giving a bizzare spin to a terrorising act.
The evening of 21st October in Germany seemed a bit dim as it witnessed a horrifying terrorist attack at the Christmas market in Magdeburg which claimed two innocent lives including a toddler and left more than sixty injured. A 50 year old Saudi citizen named Taleb A intentionally plowed his high speed car into the crowd who went for a Christmas holiday shopping. The authorities investigating the incident revealed that the Saudi citizen was driving a rented BMW equipped with explosives. As per authorities the motive behind the incident has not surfaced clean yet.
But guess, how did the foreign media portray the terrifying attack with its razed focused propaganda lens? It is certainly not shocking coming from foreign media but they went up to somehow blame the car rather than the person driving it. Yes, a car, a non-living entity. Most of the media houses covering the unfortunate incident came up with the headline showcasing the car itself wanted to do something extraordinary which no one from its ‘car community’ ever did and make its parents burst with pride by driving itself to the crowd.
Let us have a glimpse upon the headline of the esteemed foreign media who supposedly closely monitored the incident.
The Guardian reported “Two killed and scores injured in Germany as car ploughs into crowd at Christmas market”.
ABC News came with a similar headline seemingly blaming the car for driving itself and barging into the crowd. Its headline said “At least 2 dead and 60 hurt after a car drives into a German Christmas market in a suspected attack”
DW News reported “Germany: Car driven into crowd at Magdeburg Christmas market”
CNN too walked along the same path of blaming the undisciplined car for the unfortunate happening. “ At least 2 dead and dozens injured after car plows into German Christmas market, authorities say”, its headline said.
The Associated Press without camouflaging ruthlessly pointed out to the car through its headline. “At least 2 dead and 60 hurt after a car drives into a German Christmas market in a suspected attack”. Well Journalism is all about being ruthless to put forward facts, nothing wrong.
NBC News too showcased a similar display of blunt journalism. NBC reported “Vehicle plows into crowded Christmas market in Germany, killing 2 and injuring dozens”
Instead of addressing the deliberate actions of the attacker, these media houses framed the tragedy as if the car itself was responsible for the devastation. Such narratives not only divert attention from the accountability of the perpetrator but also highlight the biased and subpar reporting standards that come with some vested agenda. This is not the first time the foreign media has resorted to such cheap tricks. It was the same media houses who tried their best to undermine the assasination attempt of Donald Trump.
On July 13, Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A bullet grazed Trump’s ear, leaving his face bloodied, as he was swiftly escorted off stage by Secret Service agents. While the assasination attempt shocked the whole world, the foreign media outlets tried to downplay the attack.
Instead of acknowledging the assassination attempt, many headlines of these media houses tried to minimize the event, focusing on vague “loud noises” rather than the direct threat to Trump’s life. The Associated Press initially reported, “Donald Trump whisked off stage in Pennsylvania after loud noises rang through the crowd,” framing the incident as a disturbance rather than an attack. ABC News came up with the headline “Donald Trump escorted off stage by Secret Service during rally after loud noises ring out in crowd”. Outlets like USA Today, MSNBC, The Washington Post adopted similar tones.
Trying to undermine the sensitive incidents have always been the age old habit of the foreign media which of course indicates a certain agenda that is quietly being pushed.
